Totally unreliable pedal
Votanik 02.02.2024
This pedal sounds in the ballpark of the Klon, and it does so at a reasonable price, which is great.

The problem you need to consider before buying it is that this pedal has a microcontroller in it. My guess is that it functions as a switch between the two pedal modes. Unfortunately, these modes are useless, as they essentially sound almost the same. Having a microcontroller as a point of failure to achieve basically nothing is a shame.

My first pedal stopped working out of the blue. The lights were on, but no signal was passing through it. Luckily, Thomann's service got me covered and replaced the pedal with a new one.

I received the new one yesterday, and after playing with it for less than three hours, the pedal, while its lights were on and should process the sound, did nothing. The signal was passing through it as if it were bypassed. I unplugged the power cable, re-plugged it, and the pedal started working as it should.

In few words: the pedal needed a reboot.

How can I trust this pedal in a live gig?

Now I am in a situation where I don't know if I should return this. I don't want to bother the Thomann service team again with this matter, but I really feel that I wasted my money on a product whose design is ruined just to have a pointless gimmick.
