I was looking for a good quality capo to replace my old one, which was bought in New York from a small store a few years ago but since then had lost it's 'clamp' on the fretboard, resulting in unwanted noise.
I found a few options, but ended up springing for the Ortega because of it's aesthetic. I was not disappointed.
For a quick release capo it's very stylish, very heavy and definitely holds well - has a very good spring in it.
Though there are more expensive options that you may be tempted for, don't bother going for them as I believe this is the best capo I have ever used

Fantastic looks and functionality!!
Anonymous 05.06.2016
Got this capo as a gift, was immediately impressed with the build quality and the tension in the spring. I figured it must be an expensive capo, was delighted to find they were only 12.50 on Thomann. so ive been recommending these capos to many since then, i use them on all guitars, including classical guitars and other larger neck profiles. Overall a very nice product from Ortega

Crapped out after six months use
Michael S. 639 05.06.2024
I orderd this Capo looking for an affordable alternative to other capos I own. At first it worked fine. Last week however, the rubber inlay in the capo popped out. I could reglue it, but I don't want to chance a faulty piece of equipment while I'm out gigging. I was pretty happy with the capo before, this is a disappointment!

Ortega Capo Review
Owen G. 20.01.2017
This capo is very good for the price, It is very sleek and stylish. The only trouble I had with it is that it isn't a capo that lasts long with rough handling, The rubber began to fall off after a few months but its nothing that a drop of glue didn't fix. Well worth the money.

Very reliable capo
Nikos T. 19.05.2017
Seems really sturdy just by the looks, feels like it when you get your hands at it.
I've been using it for about 1 year now on many guitars with no problems at all so far.
It looks pretty cool too compared to othes!

A Capo worth considering
Paul74 22.09.2014
Bought the first Ortega and gigged with it - since bought a second! This capo is well constructed, is quick and easy to use during live performance. (Clips onto my guitar head when not in use). The capo provides good, even pressure across the fret board without having to make too many minor adjustments.

A good capo for acoustic instruments
coco777 21.01.2019
I use it on my guitar and my banjo, the tuning doesn't change too much unlike other capos I tested, so it's a plus.
