Compact little training device that does what is supposed to. Sturdy built so if you don't go and loose it I see no reason why this thing wouldn't last for years.
Many handy little features that shows the designers really thought this through. Every keypress is easily adjustable so that you can train all the fingers from the strong index to that pesky little pinkie accordingly. There's even a little "fret board" hidden behind the gray handle that mimics the strings so that one could train finger tips pressing hard on that. To be honest I didn't even know it was there before purchasing. Don't know if it has any use for me, but I think it shows that whoever designed this really put some thought on doing so.
I have the Varigrip in use daily when I'm working and someday when this coronavirus thingy is all behind us and I'm to continue my daily commutes I definitely have this thing with me there.

Best accessory ive ever bought!
Scott C. 16.09.2013
This little device is fantastic, I work 40+ hours a week and as such I don't always have time to be staying guitar fit. I bought this thinking it may be a novelty, but I use it every day in the office and I love it! It's keeping my fingers strong and dextrous and maintaining my callouses. Plus, every good salesman has a hand gadget to play with while bringing in the cash! :)

Useful piece of hardware
Stifenno 17.05.2021
I restarted after many years of absence from guitars, so I need to do a bit of exercise.
This tool is very useful and configurable to set the right level of exercise, and it's enough small to be used in every condition/site.
At the end, it's a good product that can help who need to "educate" fingers.

Great training for my pinky finger
aki.tkk 14.08.2021
I bought this with great hope to train my pinky more, since I always avoided using it on the fretboard.
I used the Varigrip whenever I could, especially when I was bored and I must say after a few days I can see great improvement and my pinky does way better now and can actually properly press on a string and move around confidently.
The quality and build is great. I also use the opposite site (where strings are imitated) very often. Training your thumb strength (great for barre chords) is also easily done by changing positions.
I can't think of any cons for now.

Does the job
PapaJohn 23.06.2022
It doesn't give the same feeling as you're holding the guitar, however, it keeps the fingers busy. Callus hardener side is a great invention. I used it for 2 weeks on holiday while away from my guitars. When I got back, my fingertips very ready for all those bends!

Steel Like Grip
Robert9809 18.01.2014
Well this is certainly the thing if you want to keep up a steel-like grip when away from your axe. It is pretty tough on the minimum setting to start with, but if you've been playing a while already you shouldn't find it that difficult to get the hang of depressing the keys.
I think this is perfect for giving your hand a good workout and will certainly improve your grip and dexterity. The string simulator on the rear is a great little feature to keep your finger ends in great condition while away from you guitar or bass. The only thing they didn'tthink to include was a bottle opener...but not everyone's perfect I suppose.
The packaging also includes instruction on how to get the best of of the Varigrip.

abgersaurus 03.07.2019
I just started playing guitar, that being said my grip strength is not what I thought.
I have used this for about a week, and I can already feel/see improvement on both my grip strength AND dexterity
Pros:
-easy to use and adjust
-improves grip strength and dexterity
-has a built-in function to simulate strings for calluses
-well built
Cons:
-none

The best finger trainer
Louemetal 14.09.2021
Yes, this is a pricier model, but quality totally justifies the price. It won't break and the adjustments are vast. Get it!

Amazing build quality
p17s82 19.06.2020
Bought this as a replacement of my old noname finger trainer and this one is just great, adjustable tension really works, and it's not trying to fall apart when training
