PRS ACC-4255 Multifit Case

This case is heavy and sturdy! I bought it as I am not a fan of gig bags generally. While the gig bag that comes with the PRS S2 is pretty good I still want an instrument of that quality in a case - gig bags offer some protection but not always enough (don't ask me how I know...).

My S2 in Elephant Grey sits very nicely in the case and looks great with the dark plush bringing out the finish! It's not why I bought the case - but it doesn't hurt! The storage compartment is one of the best - long enough to get in a strap, capo, cleaning cloth etc without crowding. I am confident the guitar is well protected!

The case in itself is very solid, well built with good materials, and my CE24 fits perfectly, like a glove. I have nothing to complain about the quality. But I do have two major problems with this case.

1. It is way overpriced for what it is. Other brands will give the same quality, if not better for 70/80 euros less. I really think PRS have not done their research well about this. Or they have, but they just don't care, and I hope I'm mistaken about this.

2. The case is insanely heavy, I mean it's not a case, that you can easily gig with. We're talking up to 12kgs with the guitar inside, that is NOT comfortable at all.

I'm a huge PRS fan, but I just think this is not on par with the brands name. PRS can, and should do better.

Like a fool I sold my original PRS case that came with my USA Custom 24, 30th Anniversary some how thinking I would be happier with a lightweight ABS case from a well known manufacturer. I wasn’t of course and always worried about the close proximity of the aluminium surrounding when moving my prized possession in and out of the ABS case.
I ended up selling the replacement case to fund re -buying what I already had in the first place!
For peace of mind these are the best cases for your PRS…. sure they are a little bit on the heavier side, but well worth the compromise in my opinion.

Also managed to get a great deal from Thomann who never disappoint!
