I've been using the Puresound E1412for more than 3 years, and I'm very pleased for the results, specially on recording situations. Personally, I recommend using wires insted of strips to hold it to the drum, it makes full contact on the drum head surface, giving more controlled response.

If you're looking for a sharp and fast snare, this is probably one of the best choices, the amount of wires on the sides prevent (not at a 100%, but more that the traditional wiring) the sympathetic buzzer from the toms and bass drum, and provides a clearer sound.

For those who play some types of funk, metal, fusion or even pop-rock, this wire is going to deliver good results, because it stands out the more tight the bottom head and the wires are.

In con, I must say that having the wires mid tight or loose don't make the drum sound great, and the sympathetic buzz becomes a real issue, which is one of the purpose of these wires.
Also, I would appreciate if the wires came with a holding strip or wire, just in case it's not for a replacement and you don't have anything to tight it to the drum.

This one gives you control over your snare, either you want that fat rich sound, or a more high pitch sound with lots of attack. It's quite versatile.

U
Reduces sympathetic buzz.

I personally replace every snare wire with a Puresound wire.

I tried the EQ wire for my main 5" depth snare drum as I was getting issues with the bass player's frequency which rattled my snare wire.

Once i put this one, I noticed a significant reduction in sympathetic buzz, I can only assume it is down to the gap in the wire breaking things up.

It still gives you a snare sound to the fullest, and although nothing will ever completely negate snare buzz and sympathetic vibration, this does it very well.

B
Excellent! Better then stock wires
Bennyramone 16.03.2015
I bought these to replace the stock wires on my Mapex Black Panther maple snare. These stock wires were buzzing all over the place, even just talking whilst sat at the kit made them buzz! So this set of Puresound Wires cut that problem down considerably. I would not say that these snare wires cut down 100% of excess buzz from other drums etc completely, but the level of buzz elimination is very welcome and satisfactory. Also, the sound of these wires is Fanatastic! They have really brought some extra life into my snare enhancing it considerably! With this set having 12 strands it has given my drum a dryer quality which is exactly what I was hoping for. Very pleased!
