Outside of Russia, it can be tricky to find loop-ended balalaika strings, so one’s first of call is typically Thomann. Pyramid’s offering is a well-balanced steel set for the prima balalaika at a reasonable price for non-coated strings.

The loops appear well wound and, once brought to tension, chime nicely in standard EEA, singing the characteristic doubled sound of the balalaika with clarity and energy. String life is good from Pyramid, so look forward to a good few months’ energy from this stirring set, depending on how often you play, instrument care and so forth.
