Good but lacks a little edge on a snare
Capt Ian 29.07.2015
I bought this as a method of reducing the volume of my snare to play in a small venue rather than for practice. The quality is excellent and whilst I've only had it a short while, it looks made to last. The response is good, if a little rubbery and the tone is pretty good too. Using it with a snare, however, it doesn't give you the same sharpness a normal head would. You do get the crack of the snare wires but you have to put some effort in to get it and it is not as crisp as a normal head.

In terms of volume reduction, this is excellent. The website says it will reduce the volume by up to 80% and whilst I can't verify the exact reduction, it does make a massive difference. I have the 22" bass drum head too and I can really bury the beater without deafening people. Like the 14" head, it has a nice tone.

All in all it's well worth the money whether for practice use or for playing in an environment where you need to play quietly.

This product is what drummers from all over the world were waiting for . It's basically the solution to all your volume problems . If you have E-Drums Throw them buy acoustic ones and put these heads on . The feeling is the closest you can get to a real drum head and they are as quiet as a pad but also can give a tone out of the drums if you tune them a little high .
You can check out some videos on youtube and you will see for yourself how quiet and good for practise these heads are .

Great for practice!
PsykeShow 12.04.2019
It definitely doesn't feel natural, but it's great for practice. I've heard that it feels natural if you put a square of tape in the middle, which I've not tested, but that would reduce the bounciness. However, regards of the bounce it gives, it's a good product. I recommend it if you can't practice because of how loud drums are, this definitely reduces the sound ALOT and makes practice alot easier without disturbing the neighbours/residents of the house.

Disappointing
Pablo T 23.12.2020
Maybe I was expecting too much from it, but I really don't like the feel and the texture of it. I've tried to tune it in different ways, but it's just weird.
The sound is as advertised, low, you won't bother anybody. The response/rebound it's nothing like a real drum head, actually it gives you too much rebound (even with low tuning).
All in all I cannot recommend it. I'd rather keep practicing with pads.

Bouncy
F vd. Bos 03.01.2019
I use this head for my DIY triggered snare and I like the remo mesh heads. But for me the head is a bit too bouncy and I think that's because it's only one layer of mesh. Next time I'll try the roland mesh, which i also made by remo, but it's made of two layers. Sound is good, but if you leave your resonance head on the drum, you still hear it pretty good, so you should take that off as well.

Like trying to tap-dance with socks :)

Forget rim shots :)

It has silenced my 14x3.5 Pearl FreeFloater to the bare minimum. It's relatively tunable and does the work it's bought for.

Fantastic way to convert your drums to electronic.
eddiehimself 09.11.2018
I've got this snare drum which looks nice but was otherwise terrible quality and the strainer stopped working. So I decided when I "went electric" to keep the drum and convert it to electronic with mesh heads and a trigger. This certainly does the job very well, making almost no noise at all. In fact it's significantly quieter than my actual electronic drum/cymbal pads!

Tone and low volume
JJ-UK 19.05.2020
Great practice heads to reduce the volume while still maintaining good tone. Some increased rebound but can be somewhat alleviated by tuning down slightly. Perfect for home drumming.

Really silent
Sunshine1 06.08.2018
I thought it would be silent, but this is really quiet. My neibhours must love it as they don't hear me practicing any more. It is also strong, I've been using it for two months and it has not broken.
The bounce from it is a little different than from a normal drum head, but for the purpose, which is quiet practicing it works great.
