Perfect with a pillow inside!
Petersolod 24.04.2020
I can practice at 4 am now and my neighbours don't even notice me!!! I put a pillow and some blankets inside to kill the bounciness so don't believe anyone who tells you you can't get a realistic rebound from it, YOU CAN. Buy a bass drum patch with it so that it lasts longer

Good

Sound good and super quiet too. Also look good actually. I use plastic hot rods with these so you can still rimshot and not break the sticks and you'll get less bounce.

Great quality and feel for the price

Even though this is a relatively inexpensive drumhead, it still packs a punch with amazing dampening. It also feels basically like a normal bass drum if you apply the included kick drum patch.

A
Volume of base drum with Remo 22'' Silent Stroke
Anonymous 29.04.2016
Very nice product. If the base drums has the resonant head with no holes, it will still result in a slightly-above expected volume. The tone is actually nice, but you might want to fill the base drum with something to dampen vibrations.

Perfect for practice!
PsykeShow 12.04.2019
If you're not going for a particular sound, but can't practice because of neighbours/apartement/parents in the house? This is honestly the perfect solution.

It feels a bit bouncy, but I just put an old blanket inside and it feels sturdy and kicks pretty well. The sound isn't too bad actually, but it's pretty low and that's what I needed for my apartement, because I live in the basement of my landlords and I didn't want to ruin their daily peace.

Pros:
- It's low volume, perfect for practice
- Feels pretty good if you put a blanket or something to muffle it
- It's light, looks good

Cons:
- Heard it's pretty hard to trigger mesh heads
- It's a bit more bouncy than a regular head, but with muffling that's not really any issue.

Overall I really like it. I've used mine for a couple of months now and it's a perfect solution to low volume practice.

Suprisingly sturdy

When i mounted my fist silent stroke mesh head 2 years ago i find myself not in need to change it yet. My initial thoughts where that "this head will not last long", but it shows no signs of ripping. Just remember to use a falam slam!

CI
All the tone with a fraction of the volume
Capt Ian 29.07.2015
I got this head to use for playing in an enclosed environment rather than for practice and it does the job perfectly. It has a lovely tone and is really good quality. The head is very responsive and can be dampened in the same way you would a normal head if you want a rock style thud rather than ringing tone.

Playing this in a small church room, I can happily bury the beater into the head without fear of bursting anyone's eardrums. It's nice not to have to hold back all of the time. I don;t have the gear at the moment but the fact that these will work with triggers makes them perfect for turning your normal kit into an electronic set or simply being able to set your own volume depending on the size of the place you're gigging in.

Whether for practice or for quieter gigging, I can really recommend SilentStroke. I've only got a bass and snare kitted out with SilentStroke at the moment but I will be changing the rest of my heads in the very near future.

The best solution I have come across for angry neighbours yet, causing many drummer friends to ask where these heads came from.
