Remo Falam Slam Pad 2.5" Single

I always buy Remo heads for my drums. I find them reliable, they hold the tuning very well, they have a wide tuning range, and are durable.
This Falam Slam does its' job in protecting the impact site of the head from the beating of the beater but, perhaps, Remo could make an other version that is thicker to offer more attack and 'click'. This is just personal preference, of course.
Overall, a great pad and I will keep buying them.

Works fine and serves it's purpose, had trouble finding the bigger ones... i prefer a slightly larger surface area so that stoned drummers don't have to think too hard about the height of the beater on their kick pedal but they don't seem to sell them anymore.

Evans kick drum patches. which I used in the past, weren't actually serving good protection for my kick head until I tried Falam Slam. In the past, using Evans ones, kick head wouldn't last me for a year, but when I started using Remo ones, my PS3 head lasted for 2.5 years. All in all, they're serving their purpose very well and I intend to continue purchasing them whenever I need them.

The Remo Falam Slam Pad is a great and relatively in expensive way of adding some focus and 'slap' to your bass drum sound as well as preserving the life of your bass drum head.
The Remo Falam Slam Pad comes in a pack of 2 so you will have a spare (but I doubt you would need it for a long time, unless you play 2 bass drums!)
I would recommend this pad if you want to avoid your beater leaving dents in your bass drum head and if you want to make your bass drum sound a little more focussed.

It’s really thick but I didn’t notice any difference in the feel of playing.

Everything wears out eventually but till then, this feels unpenetrable.

I even tried it on a mesh head with a 8" DM10 kickpad, but it doesn't stick that well on that surface.
It won't go anywhere, but the beater will cause the patch to loosen at it's edges and iit just looks sloppy after that.

Worthwile product for when a cracked skin during performance just cannot be an option, or just to prolong the life of your skins considerably.

Very recommendable, especially for single ply drumheads. Extends drum head life to infinity, but affects the feeling of impact and produces a somewhat dampened bass drum sound

But I wish I had got the white or grey one, mine looks like standard Carbon Fiber look... very heavy metal haha!

I've just head protector patches for years. I'm not the heaviest player in the world but i do use wooden beaters. I'm also poor and these patches make your drum head last forever. I've bought 2 kick drum heads in 15 years. this little patch is a real money saver. all the useful stuff - punch, bottom end blah blah blah - fundamentally you won't be able to put your beater through your bass drum head. Which is nice...

This little thing can save you a lot of money. I tune my bass drum head really loose, what can reduce durability of head, but because of this little Slam pad, it lasts a long time. It helps you get that "click" sound as well. Really usefull thing, that makes head last longer.
