Classic (but also versatile) sound from a classic head
Anonymous 05.12.2014
The remo pinstripe has been in my life for as long as I can remember. It gets a decent sound out of entry level beginner drums, and a good sound out of good drums. But something that not everyone will know is that it gets an unbelievably good sound out of quads or multi-tenors (for marching bands / drum corps). The tonal clarity and projection you get is second to none. Obviously it's better to use the dedicated marching version with the crimplock hoop, but it's essentially the same head, just a little stronger at the point of attachment. If you haven't heard pinstripes crannked up to high tension, then you haven't heard them at their very best. But even at normal tensions they are a solid, reliable drumhead.

Perfect tone

I love Remo heads and I've been using them for decades. I'm a jazz drummer and I like a round, open sound on my drums. Very good tuning and tone. Highly recommended!

Best drumheads out there.

The only reason I didn't rate them as 5 stars, is because of the packaging they are coming with. I find it pretty easy to open and maybe harm the drumhead. Except this its always a classic for me!

Remo Resonance

Fine quality, durable for live performance and practice. I like these double ply heads for that deep fat sound from the toms and kick. I tend to tune them higher for live use because they carry a lot of sexy sustain through the PA for the crowd to hear.

Excellent heads

Clear pinstripe heads from remo, as the name suggests do give a really clear sound. Maybe not perfect for glancing thomann strikes, or jazz playing, but they can take a pounding and maintain their tone. May need a bit of muffling gel, but they stay in tune. For any starter kit get rid of the factory heads and replace with pinstripes and the sound will be hugely improved

Great, reliable head

I use Pinstripes as batter heads for all my toms, great tone, controlled sustain, and the best in particular for my DW Acrylic kit.

Remo For The Win

Remo or Evans, there's a big split between users.
It all boils down to personal preference.
Me, I'm a Remo fan.
These just ooze quality and have the distinctive Remo tone and feel.
