Bought this cause it looked a lot like an unknown shoulder rest I already had and liked a lot. First I thought I got a shoulder rest for a viola because it was a lot bigger than I thought and it was a couple of cm to wide. Then I realized it had the same patent number and was exactly the same as the one I had. But it needed some bending to fit an violin.
If the height fits your likings this is one of the most stable and comfortable shoulder rest I ever met. However it takes a couple of minutes bending the shoulder rest plate to the form of your like and then afterwards you'll need to bend in the legs to fit your violin. I was lucky cause I already had a worn copy already bent to perfection to my likings so I only had to compare them until I got "my" shape on it.
Bending it to form your shape needs to be done against a hard edge unless you are really strong. However a gently push against the kitchensink did it for me.
Will probably buy another to my second violin.
Another pro to name is that even though you can't adjust the height, it is easily fitted in the violin case because the legs can be folded up.
