Rotosound...

This where my first Rotosound strings i played, and i have to say, i like the sound.

Rotosound where the company which introduced the Roundwound Stringtype,
(everybody bevore played Flatwound)

I was looking for new Roundwound, because i dont like the Daddario ones,
and a friend of mine meand this Strings would be great.

I have to say, the sound is good, fits very good with a Precision Bass,
and i could use them for 3 Month.

Then the Sound loose a bit of his "crunch"

A friend of mine had a Problem with the E String, it was dead.
i heard from others that this problem could be, but this happend sometimes even with Erny Ball.

I found it great that Rotosoud use organic material for the Package,
so you dont have so much garbage.

Great Sounding Pack!!
BatuhanAker 17.05.2021
First thing to notice about these strings is they changed the packaging quite much. It used to be a sheet for each string. But now, they're touching each other. Felt some lack of quality there.

Nevertheless, sounding is superb!! I've put them to my '73 jazz bass and thing is singing! I'm having a blast each time I play stuff with slapping.

All the other people had written that these strings don't last long in terms of tone. Whether or not, they're cheap and giving so tasty sounding. I'd prefer to buy 5 or 10 packs of Roto instead of Elixir.

Great!

I’ve bought these to replace the stock strings on my Squier classic vibe 70s P bass. What a difference it makes. Love the sound, and they feel good. I’ve read somewhere that Roger Waters uses these, so that’s gotta say something - not sure if it’s true - and they are reasonably priced…

k
excellent for rock
klopp 29.08.2021
I use them on a Precision bass, mostly with a plectrum. The first time I used Rotosound it was in 1983 and I was blown away by their superior definiton of tone and sustein. To my opinio they are still one of the best brands. This set in particular is perfect for rock/heavy music.

My dad was amazed by them
Musical madman 22.06.2024
My dad is a big time rush fan and always wanted a set. Not only do they sound great and bright but they hold their sound for ages. It's been about a year since i got them for him and they still sound great and are in tune.

The classic rock bass sound
jbazz 27.03.2019
What must be said about these strings has already been said; they are the absolute no-question go-to strings if you play bass in a rock band or a rock setting! With that said, these strings are also quite versatile and I have managed to incorporate them into jazz and a number of other genres I tinker with. All it takes is some creativity with the EQ and these puppies will PLAY.

Rotosound RS66LD are my long time favourite strings for my vintage Fender Jazz bass. This strings are also piece of history because of all of that famous bass player (Chris Squire, Geddy) that made them popular. Some people say that they are hard on your fingers and frets, but I actually love the feel of them when they are new. It may be strange, it may feel like you have just brushed your fingers with light sandpaper... but i like it! Also i didnt noticed excessive damage to my frets, at least not more than with other roundwound strings. They are very bright when they are new, but they tend to lose some of that zing relatively soon, but I like the sound even after that. I even like the sound of them after 2 months of use. The price is also right.

D
best bass strings I've ever used
Downer 21.02.2018
I've tried most of the main brands over the years - until I decided to try these. Now my Precision Bass sounds the way I always thought it should. Full tone with a strong fundamental, and nice clangy highs where you need them. It's easy to see why they were liked by Chris Squire and John Entwistle - that's the sound you can expect from these strings. From now on, I would only use Rotosounds on my bass.
