Schaller BM 4L BC

The machine heads are extremely solid and allow precise tuning and stability.
Esthetically flawless and elegant as any black hardware, the installation is easy, IF you have corresponding holes, otherwise you might have some difficulties, as I had, because the mounting rings are slightly smaller than the most common ones.
The machine heads are similar to the newest ones used on Fender basses, although they don't have the typical trapezoidal plate but a smaller one.

used for experimental long string instrument, to put tension on +2m piano wire. did the job just fine. had to (over)tighten the screw because of higher tension than usual (and unorthodox break angle), which put too much tension on the plastic washer inside, but once installed properly they held out without further complaints. that said, if you're using them for what they were are for, instead of the abuse i put them through, i'm sure they will also satisfy :)

I used these to replace the revoltingly bad tuners on my Sterling Ray 35, and they are pretty much flawless so far. For info, I had to drill new holes on the bass head but that's unavoidable, at least for black tuners.

I haven't seen any issue with these, they seem solid, keep the tune perfectly and are easy to adjust. Simple and flawless as a good hammer.

Got these on my Ray 24 as well in chrome. Got these for the PB-20 bass.
They're black chrome. Feels like powder coat way more durable then any paint.
Never had issues with schaller products and I have been using them since the 80's.
Everything is there, screws, rims the lot. I put a dab of grease on the worm for extra smoothness.
Excellent replacement for any type of P/J bass or stingray.
You can reverse these so for a Ray look no further.

I looked around for a while for a good quality set of tuners for the Fender Jazz bass I am building. I wanted the best quality for my budget and found these. The quality is superb, much better that the standard Fender offerings and as I specifically wanted black chrome (not a painted version), I am very satisfied. The fact that they are made in Germany and not made in a Chinese factory with a brand name stuck on, is very reassuring.

fitted in a custom p-bass reverse neck the view is great. its fits almost the majority of necks out there and they are very steady and hard so bass doesnt detune often

I bought the Machineheads for my Stingray.
They fit perfectly. I didn´t had to drill new holes. The factory holes were exactly on the same position.
The quality is very good, the black paint seems to stay FOREVER
They stay in tune for a long time.
