Great cajon
Anonymous 23.02.2015
This German cajon is much nicer than the cheaper instruments out there. It looks great and feels very solidly constructed.
The bass sound is bit on the boomy side in my opinion, and it doesn't quite have the dry sound that the more expensive Schlagwerk cajons have (but of course this one also is much less expensive).
The snare sound is crisp and separated from the bass sound, but it is a bit subtle and subdued. If you like a very pronounced snare sound, you should look elsewhere for that. This unit doesn't have the adjustable snare apparatus, but you can remove it very easily if you want to go snare-less.

In summary: Great cajon and a nice value. The instrument is more of the pop and rock variety, this isn't really a good choice for flamenco, I think.

A good step up

I had previously been using a smaller 'bongo\Cajon' which sat on my lap as I had been suffering from a bad back but that was limited in the depth of bass notes. So I decided to take the plunge with this. I was aiming for mid-range, not a starter and the price on this was my main guide. The sound out of the box was pretty good but I have realised that you really do have to 'play it in' to get the best out of it. I have used it for practice when I can't get to my full drum kit and for busking and the Schlagwerk gets better each time it's played.
The bass sound is deep and carries well across shopping centres! The snares are quite loose - they can be adjusted but I'm going to wait until the whole thing is really settled in before trying this. As it is the snare sound matches the overall roomy sound. Slap notes took a bit of trial and error compared to the bongo version I was used to but they are there and sound good. I've taken to using the sides of the instrument to get even higher pitched notes. This takes a bit of manouvering with the legs but is ok with practise. I'm not sure if this is what is meant by the 2inOne of the instruments title?
A good instrument, maybe not the subtlety of tone one would get with spending another £200 or so but a good 'mid-point' instrument for a range of applications.

Verarbeitung Top, Sound okay

this cajon is the best iv had and iv had 4 .
the sound on the first triplet i played was sharp and bassy but not fake sounding. the snare mat in this cajon is agreat touvh, helps you chenge the sound you desire and when they ware out you can always chenge it, as you can buy parts for it.
over all the sound of the cajon over time does get better the more its played .the wood is soft and kind on the hands.
id highly recomend buying this.

the bum mat/cusion is a great purchase too. you wont reghrete buying one or two of those either.

I used to have 2inOne CP404 for few years. I travelled and played on the street with this Cajon for two years, but eventually I damaged it and decided to sell it. With the money I straight way bought this one "CP408 2inOne" Cajon. In general I could say that for non professional musicians this Cajon is a great value for this money. I started with Stagg and have played on several different Cajons and honestly I have never played on better Cajon than Schlagwerk's. Amazing sound, great manufacture and simple style that's exactly what I like about it.
