I tried it the day I got it and was left disappointed.
I thought I'd give it another try and give it some more time and got even more disappointed.
For starters, it's pretty hard to find a spot on the guitar where it doesn't bother me while I play, but that was kind of expected since you add something on your guitar right where your right hand always moves. I got a Yamaha CPX900 and no matter where I placed it on the body it always keeps resonating with the bass notes. I tried moving the magnet around to stop the buzzing, I even tried putting an extra magnet in the proposed "most quite" position and still it was unbearable.
Even if you get passed the buzzing somehow it still doesn't sound at all like a snare and the sound is weak, you have to slap it really hard to get a sound that at least justifies the high price.
The only good thing about it is the quality and the beauty, can't say anything about these factors. It is sturdy and blends nicely with the guitar's looks. It stays on tight and gets off really easy without leaving any marks.
Lastly, it doesn't get through via the guitar's electronics, at least not mines. It just sounds like you hit the body with your thumb. The manufacturer says you should try miking it to go in the pa but oh my god the buzzing will drive you crazy, not to mention the complexity of adding another mic/cable on your guitar.
I mean, it's a good idea but the final product is just not good. I'd rather just put some foil paper on my guitar and slap on that to get a snare sound, lol.
I do not recommend getting it, it's the first time I am so disappointed by a product bought from Thomann.
