This DI box is compact, does not require a battery (as it works with the phantom power of an audio interface) and is exceptionally easy to find in the studio due to the color scheme. It works great for passive pickup guitars, it also provides a variety of options. It is easy to operate, it is built like a tank and provides a clearer signal than the instrument input in an interface (at least on the Focusrite and UA Volt). At this price point, I am not sure if I can ask for anything else.
One potential drawback is the lack of a "through" output for the use of an amp in parallel to the tracking. That being said, the design of the DM3 is meant to be as compact as possible, thus this can easily be excused.
