I have worn and utilised many headphones of various makes over the years. My Sony TV headphones had seen better days. So, I did my research and looked around, including reviews. I took the plunge on these Sennheiser 195. One review said it was not easy to set up. Are you having a laugh? It took me five minutes. The longest part was opening the box as they came well packed. A chimp at London Zoo could set these up as quickly, and I am no chimp or Tech anorak for that matter. They are of excellent quality; the sound is excellent. My Sony were good these are the next level up. Another review I read said the sound levels were not loud enough. I am OK with these levels as deafening levels are not good long-term for hearing health. It is optional what level you have it at, and adjust the sound on your TV. My only bug bear is sometimes, after wearing it for more extended periods, say a 2hr film, the pads on the earpieces press uncomfortably on my lug holes, and no, I don't Dumbo sized ears either. Maybe it is because they are new and soften over time.
The main stand is easy to read, and charging is straightforward—just hang up the phones. The charge so far covers my usage of, say, 6 hours a day on and off. The sound quality is precisely what I expected of Sehnnheiser. Yes, it's a lot of money to fork out, and there are cheaper alternatives on the market. However, if you want real quality, you won't go far wrong with these cans. I use mine for watching films Tv and music through Spotify or my DVD/BluRay player. The headset itself is very comfortable and well-made. Thomann was the best price on these which includes free postage and packing done deal!
