The perfect set for an allrounder.
rag0n 10.11.2020
I got this set to make my epiphone les paul standard more versatile. I paired it with a couple of harley benton push-pull 500k pots and wired them so as i can either isolate the p-90, the rail or use the humbuckers in series mode. Wiring is no easy task for a newbie like me but if you follow the included diagram it is possible for everyone. The only modification i did was using the volume pots as push-pull instead of the tone pots. The 500k pots with 22nf caps make a perfect combo and you have a great variety of great tone. I especially like the two rails together with the tele like tone. You can really use one guitar for almost everything. There is really not a downside on these pickups. You can even mount them upside down to favor the rails position.
Totally recomended for players who dont want to own many different instruments but get a large variety of tones.

Seymour Duncan SHPR-1 P-Rails Set
Jonjo 14.10.2013
I bought these pups to replace the lifeless humbuckers on my Gibson 2012 Les Paul. I installed and wired them up useing Triple Shot mounting rings...everything worked fine and they sounded good through my effects pedals linked to my computer at home. My band had a gig on the same night that I installed them, so I took this Gibson Les Paul with new P-Rails along with my old faithfull Gibson SG to try these new P-Rails out. For the first half of the gig I used my Gibson SG its an old one and always sounds good. The second half of the gig I put on the Les Paul with the new SHPR-1 P-Rail pups. I play in the style of Gary Moore and co..rock n blues. So how did they fair? Well I wasn't disapointed they sounded fantastic, I thought they might be good but not this good, the p-90 and humbucker sounds were great. I can recommend these pickups they certainly put life into my Gibson 2012 Les Paul they realy compare to the old P-90 and Humbucker pickups you won't be dissapointed.. I wasn't.

Excellent idea, not genuine P90 sound
Marcus6718 03.02.2014
I like these pickups but don't expect genuine P90 sound. If you want something different with interesting sound options then yes, this might be an alternative but if you're looking for P90 I'd rather get a humbucker sized P90. If you have to have it all in one guitar this might be a good compromise but that's it. Sound quality is good non the less, it's a SD and in my experience they're always dependable. Humbucker sound is pretty much normal and single coil mode is like a stacked single coil and P90 is more like a hot single coil and lacking some of the width normally associated with that type of pickup.

Epic Versatility
Anonymous 21.01.2015
I installed these into a 2006 Gibson Les Paul Studio along with the Triple Shot pickup surrounds. I was looking for some versatility for some studio work. I was very pleased with the results. I wired it all myself, took about 2 hours. The bbeauty about having these with the triple shot is that you get all options available to you, Series, Parallel, Single 'rail' and P90. I love the sound on the neck pickup in parallel, gives a good bluesy tone. The rail can sound a bit thin on its own and generally never used it but thats just a matter of taste.

EB
My favourite pickups, lots of options in a great package.
Ed Bray 29.06.2018
I bought a set of these to go into my Ocean Flame CST-24T and I absolutely love them. I use them with 2 push-pull 500k pots and they give four lots of options in each switch position.

Parallel Humbucker
Rails only
P90 only
Serial Humbuckers

Very easy to wire up using the wiring diagrams supplied.

I turned my Bridge P-Rail around to put the rail nearest the bridge which then gives an almost Tele like tone when selected.

The sound from these pickups is fantastic and there is enough variation in them to cover almost any job.

Versatile and different
Dave Vader 28.06.2018
I got these for my Ibanez Roadstar as the humbuckers it had were lacking a bit for lead work. Now I can switch the neck to a P-90 single coil smooth clean it is so much better.

It can do everything - not quite as well as having a les paul a strat and a P-90ed SG, but good enough for a gig where you don't want to keep switching guitars.

The P90 is fat - not far off my other two guitars with full P90s in, and the Humbucker competes with the Dimarzios I took out to put these in. The rail 'strat' sounds are a bit meh, but you don't buy these for strat sounds.

Worth it for the P90 (which I use 90% of the time, just switching in the 'bucker sounds in venues with a lot of hum).
