The best pickup I have used. I prefer single coils but the HB option allows me to just use the one guitar for everything. The four options of the P90 and rail allow me to just jump between Hendrix, Led Zep, ACDC, Clapton and Rory etc. I have only put it in the bridge as of yet but I am going to get one for the neck as well.
I put it in a rarely used 80s Kay SG. It has a fantastic neck but the HB I have tried before just did not quite work .Now, with the P-rail it has become my favourite guitar and I barely use my other electric guitars as the P-rail just seems to fit so well and is so versatile - love it.

A great swiss army knife

I installed a P-Rails in the bridge position of a single pickup guitar, and I am in love with it.
I have wired it so that I can use it as a full humbucker, a P90 or a parallel humbucker. I was so satisfied with these three sounds that I have never even tried the rail side!
The humbucker sounds very fat and loud (perfect for solos or big stoner rock sounds, not really tight with modern metal sounds); the P90 barks with rage and clarity and is very nice on cleans too. What really stands out, though, is the parallel setting: much fuller than a normal parallel-wired humbucker, still has a nice attack which the series mode lacks.

Edit: I finally tried the rail side too. It's a nice (gentler than P90) sound, a bit weak if you want aggressive distortions, but nice for mid/low gain stuff

Versatility
Exit-22 20.06.2019
I changed stock humbucker to P-Rail in Godin Exit-22 guitar. Firstly it makes difference in versatility: you can use P90, rail, or both pickups as humbucker, so it makes three different sounds. Pairing with middle pickup you can get six different sounds. Keep in mind that you can also wire the pickup in different sides (P90 or Rail pickup near the bridge) So it makes a lot of difference. The pickup sounds better than stock humbucker (although I wired it in parallel, so there is a little bit noise), but there are cons: Rail pickup is a bit louder than P90, so it may be a problem for someone to change those in one song. Also it may be a win if one wants to boost some part of the same song. Another thing is that P90 sounds a little bit dull, but it can occur because I put humbucker while I had to put trembucker instead (It is just a guess, because I read that it may not impact the sound strongly).

All in all I am happy with the pickup and would recommend it for those who seek wide amplitude of a sound.

Ubelivable pallet of sounds

I play in quitar heavy band. Lately i do mostly home recordings. I own Les Paul type quitars so to cover all sound specter i needed Fender type sounding quitar.
Clarity - Buying one SD P-Rail is the same as buying 3 different sounding great quitars. P-90 has destinctive nice and warm sound, with rail you get twangy strat sound and by combining both, one gets great sounding, not too hot, kinda vintage humbucker sound.
Pros - insert P-Rail in your favorite quitar, set it properly and you do not have to change, retune, reset different quitars
Cons - let you know when i find/hear it
Recomend it for all types of music, for quitarists who can not afford 3 different sounding quitars. The best thing for couch quitarists or home recording musicians.

Nice P90 sound. The humbucker sounds very nice in parallel mode, a bit dark in series mode. Very versatile.
