Fabolous pick-up

I have installed a set both in my Gibson Les Paul Studio as well as in my Gibson Midtown Standard and these pick-ups just sound amazing for everything between clean to full full overdrive. Pure Rock & Roll tone and response great to guitar roll off in volume. I simply cannot recommend these pick-ups enogh.

Awesome sound

I had no prior exposure to the P90 style of pickup so I decided to give it a go in my Squier Mustang. The tone is distinct and I think it fits the neck position really well. My bridge pickup is a Seymour Duncan Invader, which is an absolute monster of a pickup, but when split balances really well with the Phat Cat. I've wired my pickups with individual volumes for extra balancing options, but I rarely find myself tweaking them when the bridge is split. Build quality is top notch, as you would expect from Seymour Duncan. As pictured, the package includes a pickup ring and mounting hardware as well as some of the most common wiring diagrams and links for more elaborate instruction. This was my first pickup job and the wiring went really smoothly thanks to the diagrams on SDs website - they had the exact diagram for my use-case - P90 + HB + 3-way switch + 2 vol and 1 tone.

Just be mindful of the measurements - if you guitar has uncovered pickups, you might need to modify it. In my case I had to use a dremmel tool to enlarge the neck pickup opening in my pickguard. Also the screws that came in with the pickup were too long and I had to reuse my old screws. The Mustang has a very slim body and the stock screws would touch the bottom of the cavity and raise the pickguard. I had to accept the limited pickup height adjustment coming from the shorter screws in favor of being able to fit the pickup at all. In the end it all worked out well and this is not a fault of the product. I hope by sharing my experience I can help others make an informed choice.
In terms of sound, it exceeded all my expectations.

The best Idea i had!

I needed an alternative to my Gibson humbucker sound but I don't really fit into the stratocaster world (albeit I have tried several times), the answer? a Gibson LP with these babys, what a great sound! And still with sparks of single coil, great tone, and balance in the pair. it's a definitive go!

Very nice sound

Installed it as a bridge pickup on one of my guitars, sounds amazing. Sounds like something between humbuckers and single. A bit fatter than classic P90 sound.
