Would not recommend, I was looking a better mic for a banjo and went for the cheap option instead, and I regret it. I've had my banjo looked at by several people now, they reckon it's a terrible quality mic. I'm trying to flog it now to get a better one. I has a nasty buzz off it, something isn't earthed in it. I needed to touch the metal casing on the flimsy lead that comes with it to stop the buzz. Needed to use an EQ pushed to the last to even get a sound that can compete with other amplified instruments and obviously then the horrible buzz increases too. Stay away from this one.

I am so pleased with this banjo pickup. Previously I tried a Fishman banjo pickup but I was disappointed and thought I'd try this Shadow SH930 pickup instead. So far I have been happy with it's performance. It was simple to install and looks very neat on the banjo. It produces a more authentic banjo sound and the tone/volume control gives you more control over that sound. I have no hesitation in recommending it to other banjo players.

Not good enough for live performance
davyvk 29.09.2019
This is just nog good enough. The sound is poor and too silent. Also the little volume preamp is not sturdy. The mini jack is very difficult to use. This is good for amplifying at home, but not for live performance. So don't buy it to play gigs with it.
