replacement for the original
HowieCapowie 19.02.2020
well, it looks and perfoms just like the original grill. Have bought 2 of these and they perfom well. I replaced the original one after it had been banged up (a lot). The second one I bought beacuse my GF borrowed it to a gig and it was dropped to floor while packing up afterwards. I like the microphone to look proper, so.. Its not expensive, all though there is the Thoman's own version, which I suspect would performe just as well. if you dont like the banged up look of your grill on your mic, this makes it look new again. The mic it self is build to last even World War three, so its a great testament to the SM58 build quality.

This is what You're looking for!
A.Barons 10.09.2018
Performing live with a punk band can get messy, emotions overflowing with energy, letting Yourself go etc. etc. As some of You might have noticed - when playing live drum sticks, guitar strings tend to break more often and if the singer is any good, he/ she might smash the mic in sometimes as well. Then You know, sooner or later the screen will have to be replaced, unless You're comfortable with a deep bump or a possibility of damaging the cartridge of the mic for good.
I remember when I first bought a couple of used Shure SM58's, I immediately bought new replacement screens, since disinfecting it and getting rid of the smell of the previous owner's smelly breath proved too much of a hassle.
Those were the cheapest, off-brand screens that fit and that I could find. To my disappointment, they got rusty pretty soon and weren't looking too good either.
So, if You're looking for a new screen for Your Shure SM58, this product made by the Shure itself is the best choice.

Pros:
1) Original manufacturer;
2) made specifically for SM58 models;
3) quality build and sustainability unlike the cheaper off-brand models;
4) makes the whole mic look like brand new.

Works on beta58 also.
Anonymous 21.05.2016
Fits perfectly on SM58. It also fits the beta58, so don't bother with the beta replacement. The only difference is in the curve of the lower ring. Everything else is identical, but the price is almost 4 times bigger.

Important thing in our days
GuitarPlayerFromMinsk 15.04.2020
It's important thing to have as a double for rehearsal space (if you share the room with another people). Just use your own grill like you do with your toothbrush.

Just have some of these around. might cost you some bucks but its worth it.
When working with some great musicians, fancy gigs, its always a plus to have your grills fit.. people do notice and do complain, do prefer grills that aren't totally messed up and stinky.
