A few weeks ago I tried out a pair of Sommer patch cables, and was so impressed with eh quality I ordered an entire pedal-board's worth straight away. After hearing the astounding difference the patch cables made, I decided to go all-in and invest in a pair of these 6.0m cables (one from the last pedal to the amp, one from the guitar to the pedal board).
Now my entire rig sounds as if it has been given a brand new lease of life! My signal is so clear, so free of interference and unwanted noise, I had forgotten how good my rig could sound.
I can't recommend these cables enough. When I initially saw Sommer cables the first time around, they looked amazing, and wondered if this was an exercise in style over substance. I am so glad I was wrong! Yes, they look amazing, with high-end jacks at both ends, and a clear, smoke-coloured cable sleeve that shows off the internal braided cable.
The sound quality and clarity is immediately apparent when using them for the first time. The gold contacts really do make all the difference in sound quality.
So they look and sound great, but how robust are they? Well, I've given them a thorough testing and I would be more than happy to gig with these cables. They are well made and very robust, I don't see them wearing out from being stepped on / rolled over / coiled and un-coiled constantly any time soon, so they are definitely suitable for the live environment.
All in all, a very impressive product, and a very worthwhile investment. If you're looking for an upgrade in your rig for a very affordable price when you see what you get for the money, look no further than these Sommer Cables. You won't be disappointed.
