Well what can I say I have owned these lights for a few months now and I love them. I previously had some Par 56 24 X 3W Stairville that had individual LEDs of different colours and whilst they were good for lots of applications the colour mixing wasn't great so I found it difficult to get a good white however don't be put off these if you just want bright coloured lights. I ordered these CX-3s and was instantly impressed and feel that the way forward is to have quad coloured LEDs, the colour mixing is great you can get a very good warm white and by taking out a little blue. If you have not owned LED lights before and worry that they will be bright enough don't, they are very very bright. The one small thing I don't like about them is that the beam angle is very wide, they are definitely floods and not spots. I am sure that sensibly priced LED spots are in the pipeline and I can't wait

A True Replacement
MartinS 615 12.08.2017
Having used the traditional filament par cans in the past with the associated issues of power consumption, LED is now at an affordable point of replacement.
I have the Starville 36 x 3 RGB Par 64 units and they work very well.
The upgrade to these 18 x 8 RGBW is a real improvement.
The White is a good white if that makes sense and when mixed with the additional RGB Leds the unit offers up the ability to mix some amazing colours.
I use my lighting mainly for live music events, bands, small festivals etc.
In the 8 Chl DMX mode you have access to a strobe function along with some pre programmed colour mixes within the unit which are very handy when trying to set up a quick mix of colours at short notice.
These will never be a replacement for the traditional 1000W par can with gel filter, however, the ability to run 20 of these form one 13A socket is a no brainer for me.
The only thing that is missing from the unit is the ability to link the power cables to each other as some other LED units do, however this is only me being picky.
If your thinking of moving from the old traditional Par units, these Starville units are a great alternative.
I've had mine for a couple of years now and they are still going well.
Will I be buying more of these? Definitely

Superb light output!
Richard269 06.12.2013
Not much more that I can add to the above reviews, other than I own four of these units and the light output is truly awesome. The quad colour LED's include white in addition to the usual Red/Green/Blue and makes a very useful feature for softening the colour. Excellent product; not owned long enough to establish relaibility, but they look promising. Run very cool and a virtually silent fan keeps the LED chips cool.
I have used them for a variety of events from discos to funerals (yes!). They have built in control for "stand-alone" operation with a variety of programs including some sound activated ones.
They also work very well with a dmx controller. OK, some LED stuff lacks the smoothness of incandescent lamps for dimming, but these are among the best I've used.
Lighting backdrops (formerly needing 15kW of roasting hot halogen lamps plus a load of LEE filter) is now a breeze. No heavy cables, or distros, no spraying fireproofer everywhere, and more virtually any colour!
Overall a very impressive product and yes, I would love some more, but I can do an incredible amount with my 4 units!

PN
RGBW LED par can: Stairville 64 CX-3 RGBW
Paul N. 148 27.05.2013
I bought four of these fittings because I was specifically looking for a wide beam, bright RGBW LED lamp. I was not disappointed. I have used them for a theatrical performance and a rock concert since purchasing them and found them to be excellent on both occasions. The colour consistency across four fittings was very good, the brightness across the full beam angle of 45 degrees was very good.

My only negative comments are that they don't dim to zero but 5% when they immediately fade to zero and secondly they have some fan noise which on a small stage may be annoying but in a decent size theatre would go unnoticed.

Quality Led Par Can
Diver1865 06.05.2019
So I’ve been using these Starville Par Cans for a few years now and can now provide a quality review.
The light quality is very good, it’s not quite up there with the 1000w halogen units from years gone by however you can run 20:of these on a single 13A feed. That makes a massive difference to what you can achieve without the issue of the heat associated with traditional filliment bulbs.
The units are fan cooled, yes there is a a little noise here however if your lighting a band it’s of no issue.
There are options as to how many channels you can use to control the unit via DMX as well as the ability to run the units on pre programmed colours.
For the light output they give and the cost it’s a great option if your looking to change to LED units.
There are cheeped units out there however the Starville units are a great deal better.
At the moment I have 8 of these and will be buying more

Not amazing, but does the job
Varo leikkiviä lapsia 13.11.2018
Feels a bit cheap, but handles okay. The colors are good enough. We have had a few break on us, but it was mostly because of mishandling.
Mind one thing through, the beam angle is 25°. Well it actually manages to dazzle people in almost 180° area :D

Very powerfull light
Steven Girardi 16.04.2018
good performances, sometimes they miss signal, once every three hours of show (average). Good colours. The ones bought one year ago still work. I had a problem with one once, send it back, free, Thomann fixed it and then they shipped it back all in a week time.
Great !

Very bright
Gerry5992 02.01.2019
Bought 28 of these. They are bright and pretty wide angle you could use as a back wash if needed by adding a G Clamp or equally good as an Uplight . Have them 5 months with no problems . They are relatively cheap compared to other brands and the 3 year warranty is a no brainer.
Colors are rich and powerful.
Would recommend highly but buy your self the Flightcase as well to mind them.

Great Light, Great Value
Anonymous 14.10.2016
Really pleased with this! Holds up in everything from a 150 cap room, to a 1000 cap room. Colours are distinct and strobe effect is great.
Only thing I could slightly fault it on is that its in quite a lightweight frame - the upside is that its light to transport, but the downside is that it does not seem to durable should it ever take a bump or fall. But as long as you transport with a hard case there should be no problems.

Highly Recommend!
