Thomann had the best price I could find on this microphone by a large margin. It sounds pretty good to my beginner's ears, both plugged into a small valve guitar amp, and into a mixing desk and monitored using headphones. It definitely has a "voice" when compared to a large diaphragm condenser mic - more compressed and less top end.
Something that doesn't seem to be mentioned anywhere is the fact that the mic housing is made of metal - both the main part and the grill appear to be cast, and the mic is surprisingly heavy, although not too heavy. A bit hefty in one hand while holding the harmonica, but fine once the second hand is in position to cup, where the heel of the hand supports the weight.
The volume control works well. Smooth action with just the right amount of drag such that it doesn't get accidentally knocked out of position. There is one detent, in the middle of the travel.
The cable length is good, but the actual cable itself is slightly prone to getting kinks. There are guitar leads (I'm primarily a guitarist) that will sort themselves out with little more than a shake, and it would be better if the cable on this mic was more like that.
Overall, I'm really pleased with this. It's my first harp mic, and I bought it mainly because I felt I needed a reference for what a real harp mic is supposed to sound like.
