Not that useful
Anonymous 16.02.2016
This came in a bundle with the T.bone EM9900 long shotgun mic, but it is a bit useless:

If you mount the mic on the camera, the mic is far too long and can be seen in shot even when zoomed in quite a long way.

There is a screw thread for mounting this on a mic stand, but because there is no angle joint you end up having to use a boom arm to change the angle.

This might be more use with smaller mics, but I hardly ever use it.

Straightforward and well made

It is never worth ignoring the need for good treatment of your microphones. In camera work this is all the more important. the camera will probably need to be manipulated to get the shot you are after, so keeping handling noise to a minimum is a must. This little shock-mount is ideal. It is well built and simply constructed. I have used mine with many 22mm diameter microphones such as the Sony ECM678, Sennheiser MKH416, Audio Technica BP4029 and RODE NTG3, but it can also hold larger diameter mics such as the Neumann RSM191.

.
Excellent for small pencil type condensers
.Seb 24.03.2021
Using them on mic booms ATM, to hold my Lewitt LCT 140 Air microphones.

Pro: Perfect fit.
Integrated 3/8" holder, you just have to remove the ¼ inch to 3/8th that is already on the mount.

I'm a very happy. This unit is arguably better built, has a tighter grip, better rubber bands and holds smaller mics than what most SCM shock mounts on offer all over the web.

I do recommend for pencil condensers, I can't, however, comment for on-camera shotgun mic usage, as this is not my use case scenario.

Fantastic budget shock mount
Angry Ash 25.11.2022
I ordered this shock mount for my daughter as she wanted to do some vlogging and needed to attach a shotgun mic to her camera. For the price it did exactly what it was ment too. It is a few years later now and it is still going strong. Highly recommend to anyone on a budget.

A necessity for shotgun mics...
Anonymous 27.12.2015
Use it with The T.Bone EM 9600 mic.

Pros:
1)Fits EM 9600 like a glove(22mm diameter mic);
2)Build quality is excellent for price;
3)Multiple mounting options- hot-shoe, 1/4 inch and some bigger thread that i don't use(maybe 3/8 inch, not sure).
Cons:
Just one for me- no spare rubber bands :(

Quick & Easy.

A great solution for quickly mounting a shotgun mic to a camera. It is very simple to fit, is fairly robust & does the job it was designed for very well.
Not too big, so it should fit nicely into even a small sound bag or pouch.

JD
An affordable camera mount for the serious user
James Duncan 11.09.2013
The Superlux HM40-C is light in weight, positive in fitting and free of vibration; meaning that this microphone clip won't strain the flimsy shoe usually found on small video cameras; and its well-designed elastic mounts won't transmit handling noise to your footage. It also enables the use of a dedicated professional microphone, mono or stereo, instead of the often very poor internal microphone usually found on consumer-grade cameras. SoundHelp thoroughly recommends this product, which will greatly improve the quality of your finished videos. And of course it comes at the same unbeatable price that we've always come to expect from Thomann.

I
Cheap and it shows
Ilkka 01.09.2014
Superlux makes many things that are far better than their price warrants. Microphones, headphones etc.

This is not one of those products.

I understand this costs a fraction of, for example, the Rode mic holder, but even that is not very expensive.

This holds your mic and slides into the hot shoe of your camera, but it won't do that very long, mind you. Cheap, brittle plastic.

Go buy the Rode instead.
