This amp has excellent clean tone, designed for taking pedals really well. Humbucker guitars sound a bit dark (I think that's due to the Celestion G12M-65 speaker), but I plug in my single coil Tele, and it's amazing. You can also gun it with volume and master to get early led zep tones. I set it on a clean tone and let pedals shape drive tones (great with jrockett the dude or xotic sl drive). However I recommend you put ALL pedals in front. If you put pedals in the effect loop (as I have JHS chorus and Keeley Caverns) you will get really annoying crackles and a generally broken sound, especially on clean. At first I thought the amp or pedals were faulty, but when running everything in front there were no problems. Supro said that their effects loop is completely passive and that too large preamp signal can cause this crackling side effects. This happens already when volume is at 2.5, so I don't see how can fx loop be useful. Despite all that, this amp is excellent, it has a really warm and noble tone, so this FX loop shenanigan doesn't matter all that much to me.
