Swissonic USB Hub 1916

I was looking for a 19" solution for all my usb needs as there were too many hubs and docks flying around, making a spaghetti monster of cables.

However, the unit looks great and solid, but the functionality is unfortunately not stable in my case. The LEDS don't light up on all the hardware. Mostly only harddrives. Some of my hard drives are connecting/disconnecting frequently which doesn't happen directly connected or other hub/docks.

Next to that, I'm forced to connect this unit to a USB-C dock, as I only have 2 ports (Thunderbolt 4) on my Macbook Pro M1. 1 port needs to be dedicated for my Thunderbolt audio interface and the other... well you guessed it; for the USB-C dock and this Swissonic Hub. The Swissonic hub is connected to the USB-C dock, but even if I connect it directly I experience these errors with the dock. It seems more that my Macbook Pro is struggling with all these connections and docks/hubs.

Probably sell the unit 2ndhand when the time arrives, but it doesn't seem like a faulty unit.

I bought this around 2018 if not mistaken, it was 150 something back then,
it then went up with 20€ what made that i did not order a 2nd one... cause a usb hub for allmost 200 euro's there are alternatives 10x cheaper that work as good. I did use it with my older mac pro, and it worked flawlessly only the led problems that everyone has the flickering not knowing if it's on or off... also for the powerbutton that is lacking.
Anyway when trying it with my recent mac mini m2 in the beginning it worked a bit slower... so I plugged in less power driven tools to it.
The other thing is with not enough ports on the mac mini having 2 of these makes it usb data hungry on the mac mini ports curious... how long this will work.
