Mudhoney Danish Collection?
Replifex 12.02.2021
I bought the Mudhoney Danish Collection a while ago here at Thomann's. Hand built by T-Rex in Denmark!
It's a great pedal but you have to be aware that not all T-Rex Mudhoney Danish collection pedals are created equal!
Mine is hand built (apart from the wave soldering mentioned in the manual) in Denmark with some more superior parts (WIMA capacitors and such).
For collectors this can be important. The currently available version is assembled in...........CHINA!
Does this make it a bad product? Well no not really, the design is the same and it still is great, certainly for the price it's going for but i find it a somewhat sneaky approach from T-Rex.
I know this because a friend of mine recently bought one and we got unpleasantly surprised learning about the difference.
The country where it's made is on the sticker at the back and the text "Hand built by T-Rex Engineering Denmark" was missing on the top.

GS
Awesome pedal
Gareth S. 27.02.2020
This has been on my board since it arrived, and it's not going anywhere soon.

I tend to run the pedal with the boost switch engaged, and the gain at about 10 o'clock. That gives a thick but clear overdrive, with a decent amount of touch sensitivity and clarity at the top end. It's great as a rhythm sound, and works well with both humbuckers and single coils. I love it for playing pop-punk stuff like Ash.

Rolling back the guitar volume, it doesn't clean up quite as well as some other pedals, but can still yield a slightly softer tone when that's called for.

Powering it at 12V gives a touch more body, which works well with my set-up.

Turning the gain knob higher yields a fuzzy tone which I think would work well for leads (it's a bit muddy for rhythm IMO) - but I have other pedals which I prefer for that usage.

It's got an absolute ton of output - even more so when powered at the higher voltage. I usually set the level knob at about 9 o'clock which is still above unity output!

The build quality is absolutely rock solid - this think is built like a tank. And the colour looks nice on my board :)

Awesome gain pedal. Light overdrive to glorious fuzziness
Mafro 16.10.2018
The Mudhoney is perfect of you want an all-round distortion and overdrive pedal to suit a variety of different situations. Or, if you are looking for a great pedal to use as your main distorted tone, and prefer a more vintage-type distortion. As it "melts" and fuzzes up a bit at high gain, I perhaps wouldn't recommend this for metal sounds.

I am a big fan of the pedal so far, though I'm still experimenting. I currently use this pedal as my 'distorted' sound, with an overdrive after for solo boosts. On lower gain settings, you can really dial in a balance where you can dig in for more gain whilst having some clearer tone when you play quieter.

It's a unique pedal, I can't say it particularly sounds like one distortion pedal or another - has its own thing going on (at least from my experience of other similar pedals). Apparently it bears resemblance to the RAT, but it seems quite different to that also.

Definitely worth a try!

T-Rex Mudhoney

So, I never had particularly high opinion about T-Rex pedals. Until I tried Mudhoney. Than I had to buy it. I own Squire Tele with Seymout Duncan pickups and Laney 50w tube combo, and this little beast (T-Rex Mudhoney) makes my guitar cry me a bules or raor me a post metal. I also own Maxon OD 808, but Muhoney is a pedal with much more character. Hidden gem.
