Great quality
comaunite 02.05.2020
I play an electric guitar, and have collected quite a dew pedals over the years. This however is my first octaver. With the research I was able to do around the web - it seemed like a great option and it was on sale, so I grabbed it.
When I got it - I was very happy with how it tracks, buffer quality (since I had to stick this infront of my dirt for better sound), and all the options of dialing in just the right amount of +oct, -oct, quint and dry signal. The controls are dead simple.
Soundwise it is very pleasant - I was able to dial cool bass sound on it and all the other trippy combos. You can get some epic black hole sounds out of it, if your setup allows it.
I was unable to notice any sound degradation from the pedal sitting in the chain, so as mentioned, the buffer seems of good quality.
The pedal looks and feels sturdy and trippy.

Verdict: I can only recommend getting this one!

Happy camper
Sorrythisnameisalreadytaken 17.12.2020
I am amazed by this pedal. Very usable high quality sounds.
In the beginning its is not completely intuitive the setting of the different volumes in the final mix but once the MIX knob is understood it all goes great. There is some latency (Unavoidable) which creates a very subtle retuned slapback. The original sound is always in, a bit, otherwise it would sound flatter and would loose the attack. The 5th up is amazing.

Serves to generate a funky percussive organ kind of sound. Serves to impersonate a Brass section somehow... And put behind or after distortions, fuzz, etc.... It is just mindblowing.

It is not as flexible as other tools. Sound quality is great, and at the current price point (88€) it is difficult to beat.

A great sounding and simple octave and 5th generator
bubba 10.12.2020
Tracking and tone
This is the best sounding polyphonic pitch shifter I've tried. Tracking is as good as it gets. Not flawless, but still as good as or even better than the competition. You can feel a slight latency on the octave down setting, but that is to be expected from digital pitch shifters. An hour of playing when you first set it up lets you get used to it.
The low end added by the octave below feels tight. The tone of the 5th above and the octave above is sweet, not too harsh. I was worried that the octave above will be too squeaky, but it is not. 5 stars for the sound quality.

Controls and features
The controls allow for a fully adjustable mix between the dry signal, 5th above, octave above, and octave down. These controls are basic, but well thought through. 4 stars for the features because this pedal really could benefit from preset switching. After all, you can get a lot out of it.

Build quality
The build quality feels fine. I do not expect it to be a problem. Time will show. For now 5 stars.

Applications
It works really well for everything you might want to use a 3 voice pitch shifter for. From heavy oct/down riffs into distortion to lush clean chords with 5th and octave above riffs.

I highly recommend it if presets are not a must. You will not get better pitch tracking and tone with other pedals.

P
The best octave pedal I've tried
Paul2118 24.02.2015
I have tried the MXR octave deluxe which for me didn't track perfectly with either my soprano bass or my full size bass (mainly on the higher stings). I've tried the Micro POG which tracked faultlessly but to me sounded more like an electric organ and after a while it got on my nerves, I had almost given up but thought I would give the new T-Rex Quint a last chance and WOW it is utterly brilliant. On both my full size 4 string bass and my soprano bass it tracks faultlessly and the Fith option adds a beautiful almost chord like tone, and most importantly of all the octave down sounds like a bass guitar octave down and not a pseudo organ sound. A full five stars for both the sound, the functionality and the build quality, I might even try the octave up at some point, but as a bass player I'm not sure exactly what for !

Super high quality construction. The octave down is solid, but not synthy. The octave up can be a bit digital sounding if you run it without other effects. The 5th can give you a great chunky boost. I can easily cope a royal blood sound with this

P
does the job
Pirlui67 24.03.2019
For me it works. I did not try long, it does the job any very well. I guess, because it is my first pedal of that kind. Just one thing I don't understand is how to set the volume as once started the pedal is little higher in level than without. But that's not much of a problem.

POG Killer

Absolute sleeper pedal. More functionality than a micro or Nano POG, cheaper and just as good sounding if not better with that option for a fifth. I wouldn't hesitate to get one if I was looking for an Octave pedal.

Octaver and More
noumena 29.11.2017
I decided to give the T-Rex Quint a try before going for the usual suspect in this matter; a POG Nano. The fifth option made me interested at first, and it is indeed an absolutely great addition to the up and down octaves, but when I got the pedal, the wonderful mixing options you get with the combination of a subtractive main mix control in addition to individual controls for each octave and the fifth made me stick to the Quint. The pedal tracks great, chords too. It works great with full wet settings as well as wet/dry mixes. The build quality is great, love the fact that they positioned the input and output on the top, saving valuable pedal board real estate. The switch feels great as well, no popping, solid. Finally, the visual design of the pedal is lovely as well, speaking of aesthetics. Nothing to add really, maybe a little disappointment over the fact that it is manufactured in China, purely because I was under the impression that it was all made in Denmark when ordering, but again, the build quality is superior, so no complaints about that either.

Great value!
Token 03.01.2020
This is perhaps only second to the EHX Micro Pog in poly octavers. The added 5th also makes for some very unique sounds.
