I just needed a tone cap for a bass. I don't know why I got this one to be honest. A cheaper cap would have been just as good for this but at least this one will (presumably) have a tighter tolerance than the cheapest types so you actually know what value you're getting.
I normally use orange drops for guitar/bass tone caps. Just an old habit, not because they're better or worse than anything else for this application (but for stuff like amps it's a different story of course).
The reason I got this one was simply because it was the first one that popped up with the value I wanted and I have generally good experiences with TAD products. Rather than spending a lot of time searching the Thomann website I just clicked "add to cart".
It works fine, no regrets but like I said, for this applications a cheaper cap would have been equally good as long as the tolerance is reasonably tight.

I used this to replace the electrolytic capacitor on my Telecaster. I did not like the sound i got when rolling off the tone knob. However, with this capacitor the tone knob has come to life. This capacitor made it possible to get a good tone. The tone knob is now usable to all its extend, even when it is 100% rolled off.
I also bought the same capacitor at 22nf value just to check the difference in sound. The 47nf is warmer than the 22nf but with the same qualities.
I ended up using the 47nf because it fits my playing style. It is very warm, ideal for jazz.
Overall great jazz tone, lets you use 100% of your tone knob.
Highly recommended!

Sounds great, top quality

Sounds great on my basses. A little less muddy than the orange drop in my Duncan SPB-4 loaded precision bass. Smaller than the HUGE 600v Orange drop too, fits nicely behind the pot. Tone control is useable through the whole range, tone-off gives a nice mid-bass punch.
Nice looks, quality and very tight tolerances on the values. Nicely priced as well. Recommended!!!

Great choiche for Single Coil tone control
Michele S 27.02.2018
I've bought this capacitor to update the circuit of my jazz bass. The results is a mid-growling tone with this capacitor used on a 250KOhm potentiometer.
The cut of frequency is awesome with single coils!
It's pretty big and it needs some space for the arrangement, but once you'll hear the result you'll be amazed. Plus, its size makes it resistant over time. Given its price, it's definitely a top choice! Well recommended!

I used this cap for my telecaster and strat and they make my tones feel more warmer and prettier, makes quite a difference! One thing though, they are MASSIVE, not build for small rooms for sure ;)

Great Capacitor
marcello_b 03.07.2020
In conjunction with a 500k pot, it does handle quite nicely a wide range of freqs. Big cap with long legs for an easy soldering.

Great

It is quite big. Does what it needs to do. Silent and easy to install. Don't forget to use pliers to divert the heat when soldering. I roasted my original capacitor that way. But this one feels way more high end anyway.
Lives in a Toby standard now fitted with fender Yosemite picks.
