I tried this tube in my Behringer V999 first, as a replacement for the rather wild Bugera-tube it came vith. It gave a minor/slight reduced drive and added some clarity to the sound. Not even close the 60 % reduction I might expected. (By the way, this was not the place I bought it for.)
It was purchased to be placed in V1 or V4/PI-pos in my VHT special 44 (or a V1 or V3 (PI) slot in my Hotrod DL), and I tried it first in my VHT V1 pos. Same result; just a slight reduction in gain/breakup. No big deal.
When this was placed in the V4/PI-slot it really showed it's worth: the quality of the sound improved on almost every aspect! Depth, clarity and general sound experience went to a new level (...of confidence and power..! Hi-hi)
I've ordered one more for my Hotrod DL, this is a killer in PI-pos!

Excellent medium gain tube
GPGP 01.02.2020
This is an excellent medium gain (60) tube that I'm currently using in both V1 and V3 in my Hot Rod Deluxe. For my use, it has the perfect amount of gain to tame the OD channel a bit, reduced that fizz but still be able to provide the juice when cranked. Highly recommended.

Does what it says

Well there's a huge choice of ECC81's out there but they all have different characteristics.
My vintage 68 Bandmaster needs a AT7 in the pre-amp stage and so I treated her to one of these.
Not the cheapest of the crop but I am very happy with the results.
It's quiet and appears well engineered.
Not a lot else to say but I have used TAD tubes quite a lot now and have no complaints. They are as described in the blurb.

Great tube
Token 23.08.2019
First of all, you're always happy when a tube arrives intact. They are quite fragile. This tube is the best option for V1 in a Fender Hot Rod. It lowers the gain a bit, thus making the volume knob on your clean channel more usable.

12at7 for reverb position
Rurouni 15.08.2016
Bought one for my combo, specifically to replace the tube that drives the reverb unit, V3 position.
Didnt notice any change to be honest but I did try it briefly in V1 position of a bugera v22 just because I was curious.
The result wasnt what I expected since I lost almost half of my drive and even cranked the character of the Gain channel was really weird.

Purchased two tubes for the preamp section in an amp and 1 out of 2 did not work.
