Used on a Roland e-kit and a Pearl acoustic kit.
I play mostly metal, punk and a bit of funk/electro.
I bought it based on how it seemed to feel on video.
100% happy with it! It plays exactly how it seemed to play on videos:
The pedal really follows the movement of my foot without trying to make me play a certain way.
If I want to play hard, I push, the pedal does it.
I want to play soft, I press gently, the pedal follows gently.
I want to play fast doubles or triples, the pedal recovers nicely!
I own a Power Cobra double pedal and much prefer the HP30. The Power Cobra wants me to play hard and if I don't, it just resists me (even at lower spring tensions).
I've tried a Speed Cobra as well and it just pushed me to press the pedal very quickly. If I didn't, again, the pedal resisted me.
Choosing a pedal with a neutral cam was really the best option for the flexibility I was expecting from it!
The big bonus is how lightweight it is, easy to mount and dismount and really affordable!
Just watch out with the clamp attaching it to the hoop of the drums: it's not very flexible at all and might not work well with your bass drum! (Try to find videos of people using it on similar bass drums to make sure it works out :))
