The good: The signal loud. Its a well made product.
The bad:
1. The pickup volume levels are unbalanced. Very sensitive to the tension in the string and/or the type of string. The wound strings produce much less volume than the non-wound strings. to the point that I had to change out the unwound A string with a wound set as the volume of this string was completely dominating everything else. It improved the sound but the unwound E is still dominating the other wound strings (the G,D & A). In addition, the G,D strings are muddy. Not a clear bass response. There is a toggle switch which helps a little.
2. The battery life. It takes a watch battery. This does not last very long.
3. Hard to EQ. I have an LR baggs preamp and a Boss bass EQ pedal. Neither were able to EQ out the dominant strings as described above.
3. It has an inherent slightly 'flanger/phasing' sound. Not natural.
