tc electronic BC208 Bass Cab

have been using this cabin for regular gigging over the last month with the TC BQ250. This combination works perfectly for me as many venues (bars and clubs) are above or below the ground level and are limited for space.
This where this cab comes into it's own...
tiny footprint, stackable, a smidge under 10kg and packing a punch to embarrass heftier rivals. It is so perfect for my needs that I could have been tailor made for me.
Build quality is robust given it's light weight and TC Electronic have a fast developing reputation for reliability.
Pros -
Excellent value for money
Highly portable (it won't fill the boot of your car or break your back lifting it in there)
Excellent sound quality with good low end growl (even using a 5 string) and copes with brighter tones well despite having no horns/tweeters.


Cons -
No-one will take you seriously with such a tiny set up... until you with it on.
May struggle in larger venues but it is not designed for that purpose.
My only tiny gripe is that a top mounted handle on an a unit which is stackable means you no longer have access to the handle once something is stacked, (most likely a head unit) the cabinet is both slick in appearance and it slick to the touch so not the easiest to nudge around a stage but on the plus side my spectacles fit nicely into the handle recess. (Rock and Roll)

I used this cabinet along with the TC Electronic BAM200 head at a small gig. I am extremely impressed with the tonal qualities of the 2 x 8 speakers. You can get fantastic low end reggae tones all the way up to sparkling highs for slap and soloing. This thing is so light and has such a small footprint, ideal for smaller venues. I did get some great volume from the cab, but with 2 Vox ac30’s and a huge drum kit I had to DI into our PA to be able to get the best from this set up. On the whole this is a light, versatile cab and would highly recommend this to beginners or regular gigging musicians wanting something small and portable and very sturdy ( it’s bulletproof ). It’ll never compete on it’s own but you can get some great volume from it. Top quality product. Again top quality very fast service from Thomann.

I absolutely love this. I have got increasingly fed up with carrying heavy bass gear around and have been waiting for a manufacturer to design something this small and light at this price point. I've matched this to my Little Mark 250 head and now the speakers are broken in the sound is stunning coming in just a very short way behind my custom built 112 with a high end Eminence driver in it, but that weighs twice as much and is far more bulky. The TC electronics speaker is tiny for a bass speaker and incredibly light to carry. The sound is truly awesome for such a small package with plenty of low end, cutting through a band mix extremely well. Because the drivers are so small this speaker is really responsive to faster passages. The price is amazing for something of this quality. Top marks to TC Electronics.

I have always wanted a bass cab, never had one in my whole life, although I have played with quite a few throughout the years!

I use it in conjuction with a TC Electronic BQ500 head, a Yamaha TRBX305 bass and a Line6 HX Stomp for effects. So far, I have only rehearsed with it.

If you're wondering if those 8 inch speakers can deliver enough low end, the answer is: Yes! they can! And even more!

The sound is clear, punchy, very responsive, but also warm and pleasing, wouldn't ask more from a bass cab this size.

Pros:
+ Very light and comfortable to handle and carry around
+ Sounds full, crispy and warm with plenty of volume and low end
+ Comes with a very comfy hand grip built-in on the top

Cons:
- Can't really find any

Overall, a great cab for its price, I'd say don't worry about the size of these speakers, they can play really loud and deliver loads of low end. Couldn't be happier actually!
