Great tone but won't work on a battery
Really good sounding octave pedal, very fun to play. Especially the "vintage" octaver setting, sounds badass. Balanced sound and fast response.
The tone print editing is ok. It's fun for a while but not a lot of extra effects. You can add stuff like delay / chorus / reverb. So you can get either an octaver or a vibey surfer tone. For the money that's good though.
The only complaints are:
1. The battery power is a gimmick. It will discharge in 30 minutes
2. It doesn't look cool and has cheap plastic knobs

Marvelous technology
Honestly, I bought the pedal because it's cheaper than the EHX POG AND because I was curious about the Tone Print technology.
Can 't compare with the POG, but I'm glad I did the purchase.
Beaming didn't work with a pedal in front of it (old BOSS ME20). And I suppose it needs some practice to find the beaming soft spot with regard to the pick-up. Maybe it is also a question of the quality of the pick-up (mine is a single coil on a Squier Tele).
Personally, I find that the Tone Print presets lack subtility but I found one to my likings that I will be able to continue with.
Overall, the pedal is what you can expect from TC Electronic: good price, sturdy housing and innovative.

Alternative to EHX POG
I use this on a split signal path from my bass to a guitar combo using 1 octave up to provide a rhythm like guitar sound when the guitarist solos. Takes a bit of fiddling to get the most convincing sound and can sound artificial and processed but used in conjunction with a distortion, reverb and EQ it will produce satisfactory results. I went for this because IMHO the EHX was overpriced for what I wanted to achieve.

Good deal
An affordable octaver! I use it with a loop pedal to add bass lines to my practice jams.

Good but be careful...
The TonePrint feature seems to be the best thing in the pedal but it doesn't work properly on my Sub'N'Up Octave. I've found out on internet that quite a few people had the same problem as me: when on TonePrint mode the tone sound doesn't change when you upload any template to it. Although i got a way out of this: when you open the template on the app he gives you a preview of the sound. Just quit the app in that moment and the template will remain in your pedal. Bingo! Hope it helps if you got the same problem. It's a great pedal...just a pity that this important feature doesn't work properly in some cases.

Versatile Octave Pedal with some extras
I've been playing the SubnUp for a few years now and am really happy with it. The classic setting is lovely for single line heavily distorted riffs, where tracking is not a huge concern.
The poly setting is pretty incredible in that it tracks chords surprisingly well. I use this all the time.
I've not used the Toneprint setting too much as I like to have pedals available to cover accompanying effects, so I can change their settings with ease. But when I've had a play about with a few toneprint presets I was really surprised by the quality.
Definitely worth your money if you're looking for a octaves that can track.

great for this price
doesn't track quite as well as it appeared on lots of videos i watched , but pretty good anyway,
the tone print options are great , really cool to have the pedal be used for something other than just an octave - the organ sounds on some of the toneprints are very nice - highly recomended

Sub is great!
Up, not so much. Really. I can't find one useful purpose for making my bass sound like it's being doubled by a steel drum. Thought I'd try it to change my electric into a 12-string [ala the Digitech Mosaic] and get a 2-for-1 use out of it but SUCKS in the regard. Seriously, if it wasn't for the Poly mode and the excellent Classic Mode I would have sent it back. And don't get me started on their lame a$$ Tone Print settings. Maybe they'll get it worked out or not. Who cares I still like it for the reasons mentioned.

An octaver that sets standards
I was looking for an octaver. The purpose I wanted to use it for was psychedelic elements in a heavy rock band. This little pedal had me astonished. With two options for sub-octaves and one for the upper octaves, it can create a full spectrum of sound. Hence, I started use it for other styles of music.
I haven't unlocked its full potential just yet, but so far so good. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a solid octaver.
