the box PA 12 ECO MKII

I bought two of these 12 inch PA speakers for an old powered 0.75kW rig, and I agree with all the other reviewers, these are great little speakers :-)

The bass frequencies are clear and not "muddy", while the high frequencies are not "piercing", overall a very pleasing frequency response. In fact I was happy to discover that my 750W PA wasn't strong enough to cause these 8 Ohm speakers to distort.

Of course it's unrealistic to expect chest thumping bass from these 12 inch speakers ... and that's perfectly ok, at this price and specification they're not designed to do that. However with proper EQ you can push them a little more ... otherwise consider the 15 inch speakers plus sub-woofer instead.

They handle very well, with large handles making them simple to carry, and they are surprisingly light. As others have said, I do worry about the material on the corners tearing. I recommend you attach metal corner protectors if they're going to be bump'ed and banged between gigs.

I did get an opportunity to use them at a venue which featured a venue with a very high ceiling - the ultimate speaker test ... and it passed without issue, nice sound dispersion.

For small-medium sized gigs these 12 inch speakers are great value for money.

El diseño me gusta especialmente, muy clásico y robusto, perfecto para aguantar los ensayos de decenas de músicos distintos. El sonido es claro, con buenos graves, y permite alcanzar un sonido bastante alto prácticamente sin distorsión. Sé de muy buena tinta que durante los últimos 2 años lo han utilizado tanto para ensayos como para conciertos y todos los músicos están muy contentos con los resultados obtenidos. Nunca dejará de sorprenderme la relación calidad-precio de los productos en Thomann y por supuesto que recomiendo este PA a cualquiera que no quiera gastarse todos sus ahorros pero busque un buen sonido.

What else can I say about this item, it's a great low cost speaker, good mid and high range, good volume level without breakup, and reasonable low response. Lacks a little depth in the bass end but for the price you pay and for the kind of venues you're likely to be using it for its hardly likely to be an issue. You can always use a bass bin with it too, if you need more low end.

I bought two of these as part of a thomann package deal with a 6 channel mixer and a couple of stands for a two person and two acoustic guitar live setup for small venues, pubs and bars etc, and theyre absolutely ideal for that purpose. Plenty of volume yet light enough to carry by hand with a bit of muscle, and compact enough that I could get 2 stands, tops, the mixer, a bag of leads and a guitar into the boot of my large 5-door saloon.

Reliable, good sounding, and very good value for money. Pairing them with a bass bin may be necessary if you want a more detailed low end response, but for announcements, small venue gigs, one and two man shows, acoustic work, in small pubs and clubs etc, this is well up to the job, and hard to beat for sheer value.

I have these a few years now. First got them to stack on my previous 12 inchers to make up 4 ohms speaker load at bigger venues (higher decibels), to completely use my power amps capability, 500 Watts per side, the 4 speakers took a pretty hard beating all afternoon and evening with vocals, harmonica and a complete keyboard with bass pedals. Friends in the audience were happy with the sound from 25/30 meters away. I expected to have some "blown" drivers, but these little guys, shared the load with my old 12 inchers, took the punches and fully survived.
Amaized and pleased, I have used them many times since for some larger gigs.
"budget speakers", but very capable.
