At the price it's great
chrisrust 10.11.2017
I use this for occasional gigs. I might spend more money if I was relying on it for daily use on the road.

I do PA for our own duo and sometimes bigger groups or events. I have a similar 4XLR + 4Jack snake from Thomann for send and return with a 4-channel mixer and I use this one when I want to add extra channels with a second mixer.

It all works fine and ideal for small venues. If Thomann did a similar priced 8+2 I would prefer that instead of two snakes but this is good value.

Update, I now use an 8 channel mixer for acoustic groups so the combination of these two cheap snakes is perfect. 10 XLR channels plus 4 jacks for returns.

Another update, I've moved to a digital Stagebox mixer and this is great as a sub-box on stage, in fact I'm probably buying another to give me 12 channels in two locations on stage. It will keep the cable clutter down and let me use short cables. it's just about the only 10m multicore box available, short for FOH mixing but plenty long enough on stage.

Great Mini-Snake
Bobber 20.08.2017
This snake cable (or multi-core) is great for many purposes, smaller setups, sub mixers, sub stageboxes etc., live or studio, at a bargain price. I use it when playing live without a sound tech. Then I have the mixer on the left side of the stage, the musicians who are close to it plugging in directly. I connect the M6 and put the box on the right side of the stage, so that the musicians standing farther away from the mixer can plug in without leaving the whole stage a total mess of cables.

The stagebox itself is quite solid, made of metal, good connectors which are numbered, thus making it easier to know what goes where (I use the corresponding numbers of the mixer channels). I usually play on smaller stages, so I would have liked the cable to be a bit shorter, but it is a good compromise length, it is still possible to use it with an off-stage mixer.

A
good value
Anonymous 08.09.2016
I use the box in studio for 2 years now, very satisfied for the product. The box itself is pretty solid, a little weaker on the XLRs but no problem at all. The female connectors are ok and tight, the multi-cable is really well made, big and secure, love it.
The single cables outside of it to the connectors look tiny though, but once again not a problem at all as these are going to be right on or behind the hardware you're going to plug them in, a desk in my case.
It does its job well, looks good, feels pretty good, good value!

N
Great price for this robust useful stagebox
Nillo 27.01.2019
Wanting to use another room for recording has long been a desire for me, when I saw this product available at this price there was no longer a need to wait. I am happy in my control room (converted garage) balancing the mix whilst the musicians play comfortably in their new space (my entrance hall). So much better than trying to do this with headphones on in the same room.

The build quality of this is far better than I had anticipated, whilst I am using it in an installed situation I would be happy to take it out for live recordings. In fact I might buy another for that purpose I am so impressed.

This is helping to make great sounding recordings.

cant really fault it.

I am using it in a studio (yes i know its meant more for live situations but i needed multiple mics set up quite a distance from my interface so it made sense to use something like this to have one cable to run rather than 6) and it works perfectly here the only thing i am not 100% sure on is there is a thin black cable that goes to bare wire at the end where it splits into the 6 individual cables i assumed that its for a ground connection and to be held against the case of piece of rack equipment so i have done that however some clarification on what this cable is would be nice.

Never expected something so good at this price.

This is heavy enough to take a good few years of being kicked around & stood on, yet light enough to be unseen and quickly set up.

It all works great and 10 meters is perfect for small/medium venue sound, 30 meters is very heavy & awkward to sort out in small venues. There is also "cross over" between channels on longer snakes.

Will get another for return signals to the stage instead of separate returns (monitors and main amps + my mic to musicians).

Coz its been coiled tight since manufacture, it was a bit "curly" and awkward to use, so I hung the desk end up high on a hot & sunny day, I let it hang so it could straighten out and lay flat on the floor.

Still can't believe it was so little money for such a great product.

J
Very useful Multicore
JackR 15.06.2015
This multicore is brilliant! I bought it to use for our small stage to stop having to run multiple XLR's out to microphones and DI boxes. This now lives in the middle of the stage and people plug in as needed.

The build quality is good, I've dropped it a couple of times and its still in one piece!

With all multicores my worry is the ends becoming loose from the XLR's but so far so good, this thing seems to have survived.

As always with Thomann you can't beat the price, Im considering purchasing a few more of these in the near future.
