Long-Overdue Purchase
Anonymous 06.04.2016
I have a set of Samson drum mics, previously purchased from Thomann, which are excellent for the money and which I use for live gigs. They have their own integral clips and I think they are an excellent purchase for the money; and whilst the integral clips are a great idea, I wanted the facility to use other mics. As yet, I do not own any top-name, specialised tom mics; but I would like to try mics like SM57s and Audix i-5s on tom duties; these clips will allow me to do that.

I read the reviews for the T-Bone drum clips, which were good, and decided it would be pointless for me to spend more than the price of this brand, given that my Samson set is normally used for live sound duties and I only need drum clips for home studio work.

The clips look great! They seem strong enough to handle operations, with due care. They also come with an clip thread adapter so you can choose what you need for each individual microphone.

Before you purchase, make certain you have accounted for how many clips you will need. Generally, you will want one for the snare mic and one for each tom mic. I bought three clips, which is one short of what I actually need but I can get around the problem by using a mic stand on one, which is a little silly, since the whole point of having drum clips is to dispense with having too many mic stands around the drummer. I'll will order another when I next buy from Thomann.

Didn't Work For My Needs
wide eyes 16.10.2021
Good build quality, and it's extremely affordable, which is great, but it didn't work for my needs. The rubber mounting pads were not very stable or secure on my mid-level Pearl kit. As I tighten it up, it actually causes the clamp to slide up and dismount from the rim. And even when you get it to stay mounted, the angle/position of the mic brings it way too far into the center of the drum to be useful (at least with SM 57 sized microphone). I would choose t.bone's other rim clamp over this one, personally.

Good general mic support (snares and toms)
ipais 28.10.2019
This is a good product for it's value. I've been using it for both snare and toms' micking.
There are 2 points that I don't like so much: not so easy to attach to the drum rim, because the rubber attachment is a little bit too large; there is no option to adjust the inclination on the drum (harder to set the mic further in the skin, mainly on smaller sized heads/drums).
As a conclusion: it works quite well for its job and at a very cheap price.

It copes well with its task, but there is a nuance long sm 57 microphones on this mount will be located very close to the center of the drum, there is no possibility to adjust it. With this arrangement, there is a high probability that the drummer will hit the microphone with a drum stick. So choose small microphones for this mount.
