Too much background noise, and non-ASIO driver makes it a pain to use.
Dean Elianto 22.01.2018
Poor audio quality and driver issues makes this hard to recommend, unless you only want to record quick snippets of sounds.

Cons:

High noise level, and poor signal-to-noise ratio makes it unusable to use with 'higher-gain' amp simulation, and there is no hardware level gain control makes it impossible to adjust for better SNR.

Plug-n-play concept means that you have to use ASIO4ALL driver to have an acceptable latency for live monitoring (a must if you are playing through amp simulation), this is no problem for experienced user, but for beginners it is definitely a challenge. Using ASIO4ALL also makes it impossible to have other audio source playing at the same time from the computer. Using WindowsAudio yields much greater latency. Note that this applies only to Windows, I have not tested on MAC.

No dedicated output means that latency is increased, as well as more complication in software level, sample rates has to be matched to have live monitoring, and this is not beginner friendly.

Pros:

Price point. No other AD converter comes close to this price level.

In conclusion, I can not recommend this product, the poor noise level, and software complication makes this product very hard to use.

Not suitable for playing or recording
Anonymous 06.08.2016
There is a lot of high-pitched noise coming from the computer (RF interference from the USB port). Tested it on different desktop computers and sounds the same.

In Guitar Rig I can't get rid of the noise with a noise reduction filter or an EQ, I need to increase the gate threshold to around -40dB. This makes it unusable for playing or recording anything other than clean sounds.

Because it appears as a microphone device, it's unusable as a replacement RealTone cable for Rocksmith, as it needs a line in connection.

I recommend getting at least the behringer guitar link interface. It also has problems with RF noise but it's much better than this one, and with the right drivers can be used as line in device.

You'd better take some more expensive stuff
Dmitry L. 25.12.2013
I tested it on Mac OS. The good point is that you don't need to install drivers etc. - just plug and play way, very simple. But that's all of good IMO. It does not work with Guitar Rig 5 software, the program set it as input and output device in one time and as the cable don't have any outputs obviously you don't get any sound at all. It can be used with more complicated soft as Logic or any other sequencer where you can set the in/out separately by different devices, but with that fact the simplicity of use disappears. Moreover it makes a lot of hum and noise while using distorted amp settings. So I won't recommend to buy this cheap product - better double your expenses and buy at least some Behringer interface (still not perfect but really better IMO).

Poor quality

I bought this to do some (very basic) recording on my Mac. Unfortunately the quality is extremely poor - not something you could work with - and very noticeable. I'd go for a more expensive but better quality USB next time.

o
good price ok cable
obiatch_kenbobi 15.04.2020
As an audio engineer I don't those solutions often but I found my self in need of a cheap guitar interface for playing on my HTPC in my living room. This is a good cable that I use on the fly when bored on the couch
Use: used for low level amp emulation/ recording.
I don't recommend using this cable for professional audio recording / production but it still does the job just fine for practice and scratch recording.

Not bad but neither good!
Cedric aus S. 18.03.2014
First: this cord/interface does what it is supposed to do. It works as an plug n play interface and changes your 1/4" input signal into an digital signal, which you can apply to any programm you want.

Handling is very nice! Real plug and play, nothing to install (i use windows vista!)

There arent really any Features, so I dont know what to write about. Everything listed in the discribtion also works.

The quality is OK. The Cord is relatively slim and doesnt really appeal too strong, but for studio use and if you are a little bit careful, it will be allright!

BUT: the Sound isnt too good! It tends to have a continous, high frequent hiss or hum in everything i record. No matter if its an instrument played directly into the Computer or any Effects pedal between or any 1/4" output i tried to record from!

If the sound would be as good as the handling, it would be THE best product i ever bought. But this cord really isnt worth more than it costs. If you want to record easily, and dont mind having a bit of noise in your recording, try it. If you lay more claim to your tone, dont buy such a cheap device!

material quality is good but It creates too much noise. Since it doesn't have gain control and sound output, it clips signal all the time and create huge latency to have bearable signal.

Instead of this cable buying out a guitar interface(even the worst interface) will be way better option.

Didn't expect much

All I needed was to get a guitar signal to my laptop. This works great with the t.bone USB 1G. Just plug it in and you are ready to record. The signal quality is not that bad but gets worse when using distorted amp sounds.

This is great for getting your guitar into the PC - don't get me wrong its not a replacement for a high quality interface but for messing around in reaper or garageband this is perfectly adequate.
