Small but perfectly formed

The mix 802 from the t.mix is an eight-channel mini-mixer with an awful lot to offer, despite its size. It can amplify four microphone signals and process them using its integrated equaliser. Alternatively, it is even possible to connect balanced line-level audio signals. The t.mix mix 802 also processes either one or two stereo sources and provides pan and balance controls for all these channels. It is also fitted with RCA sockets that can be used to pick up and output an additional left-right stereo signal. Although it is a small mixer, its stereo master output and headphone output can be controlled separately, and it even has an aux channel. Space-saving as it is, the mixer operates with an external power supply unit, which is of course included as standard.

Adjustable headphone output

Phantom power can be switched on globally for the mono inputs of the the t.mix mix 802, providing a full 48V and enabling the use of condenser microphones. Three-band fixed frequency equalisers can be used to boost or attenuate the sound of the respective microphone channel at 80Hz and below, as well as at 2.5kHz and at 12kHz and above. There are jack sockets for the mixer's two stereo channels, which process both balanced and unbalanced audio signals at line level. Two pairs of cinch sockets are provided as additional inputs for connecting devices with consumer levels, and these can be routed either to both the mixing and the headphone output, or to the headphone output only. A level display with eight LEDs gives users a heads-up on signal strength and clipping levels for the master output.

Perfect for smaller setups

The t.mix mix 802 is a practical mixing tool, suitable for anyone who works without high-impedance instrument inputs and who is willing to do without internal effects (although an external effect can be patched in via the aux channel). Those looking for a small-size mixer that can still manage AD/DA transformation, or be used as a PC interface, will have to look elsewhere: However, the unit's low price still means that users still get plenty for their money. Thanks to its stereo channels and flexible routing options, it is ideal for simple DJ setups, keyboard players, solo entertainers, wedding singers, home recording enthusiasts, and indeed anybody who wants a compact way of combining multiple audio signals.

About the t.mix

Thomann’s in-house brand "the t.mix" has been an integral brand of its product range since 2000. This brand offers a wide selection of different mixing desks, passive PA systems, and various accessories, proving that quality, reliability, and an attractive price tag can go hand in hand. Whether users require a DJ mixer, a compact mixing desk for the rehearsal room, or a passive PA system for a youth club, the t.mix has a convincing and affordable solution for every application.

Robust and compact

Weighing in at only 1500 grams (a little over 3lbs), the t.mix mix 802 is pretty much made to be taken on the road, an impression that is underscored by its robust metal chassis. With a footprint smaller than an A4 sheet of paper, it really saves on space, too – it will fit into almost every bag or backpack. Bands with three or four members will find the t.mix mix 802 useful as a submixer for a smaller PA unit, and can even pipe in music during intermissions with the cinch inputs. Keyboards and sound designers can in turn use the mini-mixing desk as an easy-to-use central interface for their equipment. It will also find a home on many desktops, as a practical solution to combining the sound outputs of a PC, a laptop, and any other devices – and to relay that signal to active monitor speakers.
