Voltage Meter
JesperCFC 29.08.2013
If you are looking for something to power all your rack equipment and amp head in a clean way then look elsewhere.
This is not a power conditioner it is simply a voltage meter with rack lights and the ability to power things. I will admit i made the mistake in thinking that it would perform in the same way as power conditioners such as the Furman i ended up buying afterwards.
The positives of this product are that the voltage meter is a useful feature that helped me keep an eye on voltage in less that reputable venues. The lights worked well and helped me in low lighting to fiddle with settings on my amp.
As far as those functions go i was very happy. the negatives were that when i tried to use this product to power my tube amp head, 4 rack units and a pedal power supply it was incredibly noisy, the buzz at some points became louder than the amp itself. yes it did power the units theres no argument there but i couldn't use it live.

If you want a rack mounted voltage meter and light then this is a pretty good product but if you want something to power all your gear, your going to have to bite the bullet and pay the circa £300 price tag for a power conditioner.

Issues with IE cables
Jackson99 23.12.2019
The IE pockets are too large so cables are wobbly and cut-off when moved around too much. A bit of duck tape fixes the issue.

crude, but ok

quality isnt great, its not very well designed but it is useful and priced about right.

"Filter to protect connected equipment from power surges and interference" is basically a single varistor costing around 10c (the same kind you'd find in a cheap surge protected extension lead for 5euro)

no RFI or EMI filtering in this unit. The cheap varistor will eventually die depending how bad your electricity supply is, power spikes slowly eradicate its usefulness and you wont know when its not working.

you get what you pay for, and of course its not a 'power conditioner', even the well known brands budget models sold as 'power conditioners' are basically the same as this VM-100 but with better filtering and better parts.

buy this until you can afford something better

I bough this as an option to a plug board and works great although i had a power failure in the mains and when it came on the led lights stopped working i would've expected that not to happen but still everything works so can't complain much
Oh and there's a dim light that perfectly lights up everything in your rack

Just a voltage meter
The Greek Samurai 17.05.2024
Powers all my devices with no noise and no interruptions. The only problem is that my rack is at a 35 degree angle and the IEC connectors don’t seem to grab well onto the ports which makes for an unstable wiggly connection.

Does what it says but the build quality isn't perfect
tomtomssi 18.01.2018
I got this on my 6U rack to run power to a few rack units. The lights on the front are pretty cool and they give the whole rack a nice flavour in a dark room.

The two big knobs on the front panel are lights that can be pulled out. They can be dimmed by using the smaller knob on the left side of the front panel. The lights are pretty flimsy. I can hardly pull out the other one. The also create a lot of heat so I keep them off. Note: you can only use the lights downwards. They turn a little but only about 45 degrees to each side.

The inputs at the back feel a bit flimsy when plugging or unplugging cables.

Overall a decent product that does its job. The build quality isn't much to brag about, I'd rate it maybe 2.5/5.

After several months, the lights have gone out !
David5582 20.08.2015
As a straight PDU this is great, my only problem is they give you a set of lights on the front panel, okay they don't do anything, but now they've stopped working I feel a little sad....So, T racks if you're out there reading this, don't put coloured lights on things....just leave it as it stands...a PDU that works perfectly well.

The rating may seem a little off, but there are no other features except the lights.

Disappointed!.
Steve48 16.02.2023
Bought this device, as my fridge freezer switching on, caused my voltage to dip and spike, making my studio gear glitch and restart. This did not solve the problem of these voltage spikes and dips, my gear still restarts each time that happens.

Does the job
JamesR 14.05.2013
Does the job - distributes power and has nice lighting on the front.

The IEC connectors on the back do not seem very rugged at times and I have had to send it back for repair once, so they should be treated with care.

However, it was repaired very quickly & well, ad has worked great since
