the t.racks VM-100 Voltage Meter

I was only looking for an IEC outlet strip for the back of my effects bay. Thomann don't sell that, but do sell this. I am now pleased I got it.

One thing to watch -- the lights are incandescent not LED so get VERY hot.

Just finished a tour with this unit in the Effects Rack. Seeing the voltage on tour was very useful, since in Cyprus the voltage is very variable. At the moment the mixer is analogue, but I would be dubious about a digital mixer on the voltage variation I found (from approx 205v to approx 247v) and would use a UPS. Having it displayed really gives you confidence about what is going on.

One thing NOT to do is hang your headphones on the lights. This is a great temptation, but they get way too hot and will damage them. I wish they were LED.

Just what i needed for the job.
Build into a rack with a lot of equipment with IEC power sockets.

Displays the voltage on a meter - Great for running on a generator or something such as, you can check the voltage is all running ok before you power on your equipment.

Rack lights work well and pull out when needed to light up the whole rack.

Easy isolation of all equipment using the switch on the front of the unit.

Works well and seems of good build.

Sits nicely in a 19" Rack and secures well. Brackets are strong and do not bend or give way.

IEC - IEC leads for this item can be purchased from Thomann for a good cheap price.

Has taken me a little longer to get round to writing this review, but that's so I could get it into my rack (and as I "custom cabled" each unit to it). This is a great unit, does exactly what it says on the tin. Solid contraction throughout. That nice warm feeling when it lights up when plugged in and again as the main switch is used to provide power to each unit. The two lamps/lights are great with a good span of cover (easy to get them angled to where they are most effective). As this came with a euro plug, I also bought the appropriate power adapter (I asked for the best UK option) and built in plug fits snuggly into the adapter meaning I don't even know there is a euro plug underneath.

I bought this for my recording studio to power some of my rack gear with it. It does the job fine, and for this price it is unbeatable.

However keep in mind that this is not a conditioner, so it wont do anything with the power it gets other than distributing it to the outputs, and displaying the voltage.

It also has a fuse, and the light can be useful as well.

Basically if you need a rack mounted power distributor, that can act as a main power switch for all of your rack (or non-rack) gear, then this should be a good fit for you, for a very low price.

I recommend it.
