Thomann Adaptor Safety-Plug - UK

Thiese plugs are great, and do their job of converting, EU plugs to UK plugs fairly well. My only honest criticism, is that once these adapters are fitted, the plug itself, becomes rather larger than a regular sized plug, and doesn’t fit as neatly. A loose regular UK plug, that you strip and fit yourself would get a better end result.

A nice little freebie when buying kit here in the UK. Personally I prefer to chop the euro plug off and fit a quality UK 13A heavy duty plug, but this should only be done by competent users or an engineer. Handy tip ofr UK customers - don't throw away your Euro mains cables. Cut the Euro Schuko plug by approx 50cm and fit a UK 13A four way socket strip for the ultimate travel adaptor!

This came free with my amp, I tried the amp and once I was sure I was happy with it, I cut the plug off and replaced it with a UK plug. This adaptor works fine but was awkward with the style of plug (90 degree elbow) on the amp.

If you can use a socket or extension that's tucked away somewhere you won't bump into or trip over this adapter, then it's fine. If you are using it on a small stage with a power board or sockets in the floor, then it will be evident that it's bulky and cumbersome design might be a problem, especially after a couple of pints. As far as two pin adapters go, it's pretty safe and sturdy. If Europe and the USA had a 3-pin system then the HB Celestion 15 would have the kettle type lead connection

With as much sales as Thomann does in the UK I'm really surprised that they don't offer a service that wires the proper plug. I would pay a bit extra for it. This thing is the band-aid solution and it's very large (especially in a rack) and unwieldy. It works though so no complaints about the actual device.

When ordering something electrical in the UK, you don?t expect it to come with a euro plug and a bulky adapter. Yes, it works, but I wish I?d known before ordering - I would probably have ordered from elsewhere.

Seems unnecessarily bulky and hard to house in UK style IP rated 13 Amp mains outlets. It will do the job though.

The connection with the plug it is not very simple, I was close to break it but once you have done it works nice.

Came with my order of certain devices. It does the job very well, but the end result is extremely bulky.
