Fits the Beat Bass PLUS a Squire BRONCO and more
Raymond588 25.07.2018
I bought a Squire Bronco Bass a few months ago but could not find a gig bag to fit it. I used to carry it around in a full size bag but it was a bit floppy at the ends.
Anyway, last week I decided to buy a Harley Benton Beat Fretless bass from Thomann and I also treated myself to the Thomann Beat Bass Gig-bag. Low and Behold the bag also fitted my Bronco and of course the beat bass perfectly. One bag for two basses.
The quality of this bag is what you would expect from Thomann. Strong, not too heavy (far lighter than a case and easier to carry around) and of course a lot of protection to the basses.
The straps on the back are a really strong and handy. I can carry the bass on my back and still leave my hands free for other gear. It will take my bass, strap, lead, music, tuner, phone, wallet, pen, note book and a host of other light gear.
The zips are very strong and the stitching is top quality.
If you want to carry your Beat Bass around PLUS other short scale basses then this is the one for you. I am as pleased as Punch with it

CM
An Excellent product for the price
Craig McComish 31.12.2020
I bought this item to comply with college health and safety which bans the use of hardcases in the college due to the volume of them being a fire risk.
I bought this hoping it would provide the protection needed for a Hofner bass without a centre block. The bag is well made and well padded but I still wouldn't blindly trust airport baggage handlers or the undercarriage of a bus with it.
The design allows the bass to be transported without the awkward overextended head height Hofner style gig bags are famous for.
I would feel completely confident in using this bag to get my bass whenever I require it for studying, rehersals, or teaching. That being said, for anything like a gig venue or long distance travel i.e overseas I would use my hardcase. The bag is also capable of folding up nicely in any luggage bag for use on arrival.
In summary, This item is great for avoiding the inconvenience of lugging a hardcase around and provides everyday levels of protection for the instrument, for the bigger jobs and longer journeys a hardcase is my recommendation.

N
Good, sturdy gig bag
Nikola99 18.01.2022
Bought a fretless Harley Benton violin beatbass and needed a sturdy gig bag for it, especially since I knew I'd have to transport it across the country by a train. It didn't disappoint. It's even MORE sturdier than I'd thought it'd be, honestly?

Really thick and well-made. Has not one, but TWO pockets, and they're really useful and spacious; can fit any cables, picks, sheet music, etc. Comfortable to wear on your back. The only downside is that when I carry it in my hand, it tends to dive towards the neck, which is to be expected on a semi-hollow bass since its neck IS much heavier than the body; but I'd probably change the placement of the side handle more towards the neck so that the whole thing is more balanced.

Still a really, really good bag tho. I feel safe with it lol

N
Amazing Bag
Nerea 31.10.2022
For the price it’s an amazing bag and I think it’s the best protection you can get before you go to hard cases. The only downside is that if you wear it backpack style it can be a bit uncomfortable because it touches the back of your head. But definitely a must have if you have a bass that fits.

T
Perfect fit for my HB fretless beatbass
ThCraymer 26.12.2021
This gig bag provides a nice comfortable fit for my Harley Benton fretless beatbass, and feels to be made of good quality material. My third Thomann gig bag, and all of them have consistently been good quality and perfect fits.

Fits well, but needs improvement
davyv123 28.11.2024
The bag fits the Beat Bass perfectly, the material is robust and it is well padded. In this respect, it's a good buy to go with your Beat Bass or similar.

Now the negative:
1) The zip-pulls seem of poor quality and of thin, weak alloy - I'm just waiting for them to snap off. Not a deal breaker, but if you are using the case a lot, it's only a matter of time before they will break.

2) The side carry handle is placed too far down towards the bottom of the case. The Beat Bass - any hollow body Hofner style violin bass - is head-heavy. If you are carrying the bag by the handle, the balance point is too far towards the head, so it tips head-ward when carrying. It's very easy to pick up by the handle and for it to tip headwards and bash into something. Care is needed!

This is exacerbated if you place anything in the neck-pocket on the case.

Moving the carry-handle further head wards will fix this.

A
Astonishingly good!!
Anonymous 25.08.2016
I bought two of these because I'd bought two Harley Benton fretless Beat basses. (One to remain as is, the other to be modified and fingerboard toughened for the HB Acoustic Bass strings - see review elsewhere).

This product is made of tough, hard wearing material that I'm certain would last a lifetime!! The Zips are heavy duty with large grips for easy operating. There are two pockets on the front of the gig bag; one's quite large and roughly square and is fastened approx where the guitar body will be inside the bag, the other's at the headstock end of the neck so is thin and rectangular. Both have good zips and both are easily big enough to hold all the bits and bobs us bassists need.

If push came to shove and I needed to transport an expensive bass without its hard shell case, the Harley Benton bag would be a good choice.

Very good all round!

Fits my PB Shorty
VRBTube 07.04.2021
I was looking for a gigback for my Harley Benton PB Shorty and this one fits nicely. Also the quality of the materials is really good. Even though this gigbag is for the beatbass and it's not the exact size or measurement for my PB shorty but it is a very good alternative. My shortscale bass is now safe for transport during gigs and rehearsals.
