Tweed Jazz Koffer
Robert814 07.04.2019
The Thomann Jumbo/Jazz Koffer Tweed was suggested with/for the Harley Benton Custom Line Manhattan-Standard Jazz Guitar. It is difficult to know which cases would be the best and most appropriate fit for a more unusual style and size of guitar. It's really big, so it is really made for Jazz guitars, and hollow body guitars, not semi-hollow because the case is quite deep. There is rather too much depth below the guitar body, but it is a snug fit all around the edges. The covering is really stunning in colour and feels very tough and durable. The style and appearance is well thought out - The brass/gold latches and brown handle are just a great combination. With better quality latches it could have been a very good case, as these all seem slightly loose. They would be much more reassuring if a stiffer and of a more solid feel. Quite a solid case for the price.

S
Guitar Case
Susanne7736 14.02.2014
Hello,

I´m using this case to transport my Acoustic Guitar (Takamine) to and from the rehearsal studio. It's very well made and it's shaped inside, to hold a JUMBO Acoustic snugly. This is a perfect fitting (especially under the important 'body to neck' area) and sturdy made hard case for Jumbo Acoutic style guitars and it is better than other cases I've bought before for a higher price.
The Outside is a very high beuatifully finished and stability. Also a very nice colourde touch and a good feeling substance.
I´m giving 4 stars for this case, because one of these five latches doesn´t work.

But also a very nice case in the "low budget area".

Thanks!

Great workmanship

Great workmanship, great look. Before ordering I was not sure if it would fit my Washburn J-3, and in a chat with the technical staff I asked them to measure the height of the Case further. They did so immediately and helped me make that decision. Fits my guitar perfectly. Thanks Thomann

Okay Quality and Sure looks better than the black ones

This case is really great because it's texture is even more noticeable than in the photos.

it's really big, so it is really made for Jazz guitars, and hollow body guitars, not semi-hollow because the case is quite deep.

it has simple locking mechanism, one that you can hack out with pretty much everything that fits there, nothing too complicated, just quarter of a turn and it's locked, the keys are shaped as a guitar, so that's a detail that I like ;)

Locking clips got loose after one flight. so that's a pity
it also has a small space under the guitar's neck to store some strings and what ever equipment you have.

The piece that protects the neck inside gut a bit detached.

You get what you paid for and a bit more, wouldn't recommend of going through rough trips!

Budget case with excellent tweed covering.

Quite a solid case for the price with excellent tweed covering, Unfortunately the lid is a little wobbly and having only two hinges mine did not close fully at the centre.
The lining could be more firm and is very electrostatic.
If only the lining was changed for plush velvet type and a third (centre) hinge was added it could be a good case.
With better quality latches and hinges it could be a very good case, but then the price would have to go up I suppose.

Due to the poor closure and a black mark on the tweed, I returned it for a refund. Shame because the tweed covering is great.

Stylish, functional, value for money

Needs a hard case for my spare guitar as had a soft one before. Good price, it's well made and looks fantastic. The 5 clasps are great as my other one only has 3. 2 lockable clasps great for security. The interior is very well padded also. I keep my jumbo body guitar in it and I feel confident it's safe.

All around good deal

Bought this so I could fly with my HB Custom Line Manhattan-Standard(A.N. 306822), as it's the case that Thomann pairs with it and also cause it appears to be the only case that fits it based on the dimension spec. Make no mistake, it's not supposed to a flight case by any means, but so far it has survived 10 long haul roundtrips with relavitely minor scuffles.

That being said, my only issue with it and the reason I'm docking 1 star on quality is that the clips and locks are kind of a joke. If you're flying with it, expect at least 2-3 of them to be completely loose when you pick it up from the baggage belt. But so far, the guitar has remained inside despite all and so, all in all, it's a bang for your buck.

excellent value & very pretty

A very handsome case which I bought to accommodate my peerless new york jazz guitar..In fact, this was the only case which would fit lol: with my instrument having a lower bout of 17.13″ & 112 cm length - so, it's a bonus that it's such a lovely item. Didn't have any issues with the latches as others have reported. A tad heavy, but it's very well padded & robust.

Big case with beautiful tweed
Marcus6718 03.02.2014
First of all it's not easy to find cases for big jazz boxes but this case is not only cheap it's covered in beautiful tweed. The case is not top notch and the lid is so big it feels a bit flimsy when opened but all in all it's a good case. The tweed alone is probably worth at least more than 50% of the price. Tweed ain't cheap. This case is used to house a big Epiphone Emperor Regent and the fit is perfect. It protects the guitar just fine, I wouldn't put to much pressure on the lid but I have no fear it will protect my guitar for day to day use. For touring or for really expensive guitars I would consider a sturdier case but at this price this case is great.
