That was my classically-trained, violin player husband’s reaction to hearing me playing this little cutie.
I must admit I bought this beauty as a prop for a Live Action Role Playing Game. My husband saw this and thought it cute, but he also took for granted that this was a toy. It isn’t. It’s a limited instrument, but it’s great for beginners, easy to play and beautiful beyond what should be legal.
I have a toddler and I wanted to play this green one, so I also bought the blue and the violet ones. Well, for my son and frankly, because I wanted all three of them, they are SO beautiful.
The booklet with songs to play is wonderful. I don’t know most of the songs, but the ones I do were recognizable at the second attempt. Very useful, I hope I can get more scores for these beauties.
Would I buy it again? Yes, for sure. It’s easy to blow, easy to play, lovely and reasonably priced. Heck, I’ve bought it three times already and I’m glad I did.
And yes, the instrument is limited. But I gave it 5 stars in “sound” because well, it’s a 4 hole small ocarina. It won’t have the range of an eight octave piano. But this little one is amazing for the price.
