The first gig bag to consider
Martin Krauser 24.06.2018
This is a well-thought-out product, and it feels like a lot of experience with inferior gig bags went into designing this.

It will keep your guitar stable inside the gig bag with the neck support, and the padding is thick enough to protect it from bumps or slighter drops. The zippers are strong and won't just open or come undone on their own, and even if they somehow would, the guitar would still be held in by the strap over the neck support. That said, I wouldn't put it in the cargo hold of a bus in this, let alone an airplane. It's a gig bag, not a hard case.

It has pockets for the back straps and a long shoulder strap that you can also detach, and you can hang on a wall by a D buckle. The straps are padded and make it comfortable to carry, even if you're lugging around a resonator acoustic or two of these at once.

The three additional pockets are quickly accessible and have sensibly differing sizes. Well suited for storing your odds an ends, and there is even space for an A4 notebook, something anyone should be able to appreciate.

Unfortunately, the faux leather material on the outside isn't particularly strong and will tear if it, for example, catches a door handle. This happened to a clumsy friend of mine, and not me. No. I had a problem with the thread unraveling on the zipper, but Thomann replaced the gig bag upon seeing the photos of the defect.

I'd be concerned with having less protective padding and features than this has and annoyed by worse straps, so I'd recommend against buying cheaper. On the other hand, I'm not sure if the benefit of a better gig bag is worth spending a lot more on it. I feel that this one compares favorably to pretty much any other you can buy for under 90¤ or so.

This is the one gig bag I see around on the streets most, and for good reason. I now have two and feel that this is a good compromise between guitar protection and carry weight for urban commuting. This should be your first stop for buying a gig bag for entry-level to upper mid-range guitars.

Almost like a hard case
VR KillerB 22.02.2023
Massive protection for dreadnought size guitars (I use it for Epiphone Hummingbird). It can even hold 12 string OM size acoustic guitars. It has a 3mm side protection and even has extra protection to fix the guitar neck.
The leather-like plastic cover feels almost as real leather (expect the leather smell). The only downside is the weight. It's heavy as a hard case (or even heavier) .

Thomann`s patience.
Delwyn 17.05.2013
I was buying a Hummingbird guitar for my grandson. He wanted to be able to take it to school with him so it made sense to buy as good a case as I could get for his pride and joy.
There are lots and lots of `things` that go under the name of `gig-bag` out there but, if you check them out [ and I did ] most of them offer very little real protection - they `might` save the instrument from the odd little scratch or `ding`, but they don`t offer much protection from an impact - say with the corner of a desk or the metal on a school bus seat. The important things about a gig-bag are the thickness of the `padding`, the material and the effectiveness of the stitching, the way the zips work and the fit of the guitar. This case was the very best we could find - the thickest padding for maximum protection, strongest material, best design and fittings and a perfect fit for the hummingbird.
I checked with Thomann that this case would fit the Hummingbird. They gave it the OK. I was still unsure so I checked again - Thomann again confirmed that the guitar would fit, so I bought it. The case arrived in a large, strong cardboard box - I am not sure but it looked bomb-proof. Inside this large box was another box holding the guitar. I honestly don`t think that I could have found a better gig-bag for a cheaper price and Thomann`s postage policy meant that there were no postal charges to pay. Excellent !! I would heartilly recommend Thomann to anyone who wants quality musical goods at affordable prices.

Rock solid

This gig bag means business. It is sturdy, what with an extremely durable exterior and VERY thick padding (get the specs from the product page). The linings and borders are well put together. The pull tabs on the zippers feel good, and although the smaller ones on the pockets seem a bit fragile, the slightly larger ones on the main zip feel strong. There's a very good feature inside; a neck holder to really secure the guitar in place and keep it from wobbling about, a feature typically found only in higher end bags, so that's another plus.

In my humble opinion, one area of improvement would be to include a handle on the front of the bag, somewhere between the two pockets. Why gig bag makers do not include this as a standard feature is beyond me. It's just thoughtful, usable design; a very convenient option to have.

Other than that, the bag is flawless. I have yet to test it for water resistance, but from what I can see, it should be just fine under limited exposure to rainfall. Super happy with this product.

MM
One of the BEST Acoustic Guitar bags ever !
Maria Mendes 28.08.2024
Previously I had already ordered a few electric guitar Gig-bags from Thomann and they were all very well made and a perfect fit for all my guitars. Now that I have also purchased a nice Fender acoustic guitar I decided to get one of these excellent gig bags to store it and for traveling. It is extremely well made and resistant to bumps. It contains alot of nice pocket compartments to store music books, papers, a water bottle and even a portable computer! It also comes with a handy strap so you can walk around with it if you not wish to carry it as a backpack. In the back (hidden way) there contains two very good straps to use this Guitar- bag as a backpack. Inside it has very good foam padding all around for extra protection of your valuable instrument, and also a great guitar neck pillow strap, so the guitar does not move around.
The material looks like real leather and is very resistant!
I highly recommend to everyone to get this Gig-Bag to store your acoustic guitars.- It is a 10 star rating and its only from Thomann !

Great quality indeed
Guilherme Mello 26.11.2020
As I didn't want a hard case (in my scenario would be inconvenient due its size and being non-foldable), so I bought that to go with my dreadnought acoustic guitar and fits very well, adding some extra compartments for carrying extra goodies (i.e. cables, tuner, picks, sheet music folder, etc.) and also multiple ways to carry as well (having different straps and holders). That probably is the best value for such a nice quality and well built gigbag. I would not spend more for a fancier one or a brand tag on it. Bear in mind that if you're going to hit the road and gig a lot, so you might check one of their options for hard cases.

Are You Kidding Me!!WOW
Happyme 22.11.2021
I got this for a friend of mine and when it arrived I couldn’t believe my eyes,,this thing is SICK,, first of all it looks absolutely wonderful,, it looks like a really really expensive leather of some kind or other, the color is very very nice wont show dirt ,easy to clean, then when you open it up and check your padding inside it is extremely thick ,thicker than a lot of other gig bags,, then there’s the price at the time of purchase it was 33 American dollars which is unbelievable, I bought a gig bag for my Taylor and it was well over $100 and it was not as nice as this one,, believe you me if you buy this you WONT be disappointed, are you kidding me!!WOW

S
A Beautiful Gigbag
Sabbir 24.11.2015
i had a bought Thomann Acoustic-Steel Gigbag BK, before, and loved the way it was, so when i purchased my next guitar i wanted to have this premium looking bag, which is water proof. and has a good texture to it.

I have a Jasmine Jo37-CE, and it fits perfectly in this bag. It has a slot type of thing to place the neck with Velcro on it so that guitar doesn't move much and rests perfectly while moving from here to there. The Leather(Leatherette) material looks beautiful, and has a very satisfying look on it. i have taken this gig-bag around and my friends where quiet amazed on the beauty of this bag, The Back straps are hidden inside the zipper so, it doesn't hang around all the time. The Shoulder strap is sturdy, i have checked the stitches over the bag, and it's done neatly. The pockets are adequate for the stuff you need to carry around. The bag is waterproof but, i wish if it had some flap over the zippers around so that i can be safe at the zippers tooo.

This bag has a good weight, infact i think it's as heavy as my guitar :P.... BUt i like carrying it around my shoulders, doesn't move much.

A must buy, a five star from me. :D.

A perfect thing
alexkunio 19.10.2024
I ordered a guitar harley benton herley benton custom line cld-1048 sce ns with this guitar case and I have to say I was surprised pleasantly by the quality of the guitar case. Very dense and good quality lining, the locks are chic. In addition to the back straps, there is a belt with carabiners for wearing on one shoulder. Externally it looks great. In a set with a guitar, this pleasure cost me about 20 euros. In Moldova, such an insulated cover costs more than 50 euros.

Fantastic Gig Bag, Nothing Can Beat It For The Price!
soulrebelno1 19.08.2015
I've purchased two of these acoustic gig bags and I also have a number of the electric guitar type for my other collection of guitars; they're a real bargain, I absolutely love them!

SIZE AND FIT
My largest acoustic is a Takamine GJ72CE-12NAT, 12 string, and it's a bit of a chunky monkey; it's a big beast! It has a 17" jumbo body but this gig bag can take it. I would say that's about the biggest acoustic guitar the gig bag will take, you will really struggle with anything bigger than a 17" jumbo body. The specification of the Takamine GJ72CE-12NAT is: lower bout width, 43.5cm (17"); lower bout depth, 12.5cm (5"); upper bout width, 32cm (12.5"); upper bout depth: 10.5cm (4"). The length is 20.75" (53cm). Other standard body types, such as the 16", Takamine NEX, grand auditorium or dreadnought, will easily fit with no problems.

BUILD
They are well made from a very thick black leatherette material that will take the knocks, it's waterproof and it's easy to clean. The pockets are made from the same black leatherette, complemented with a thick woven material, which is in a really nice medium brown colour with matching piping; it's not pink like in the photos! Your guitar is very well protected as well because of the 30mm high-density padding, which is of a good quality, and there's a plastic protection strip at the bottom of the bag to absorb any bumps.

There's plenty of storage for your bits and pieces. The back-straps are great and can be hidden away underneath a pair a zippers. This is a really nice feature as the straps then don't flap about and snag things, but are very easy to get at when needed. It also has a long single shoulder strap, a handle and even comes with a d-buckle on the back, near the top, so you can hang it up, what more do you need! If you're feeling up to it, you could actually carry three guitars into a gig; one of these on your back and two others in either hand!

Overall, it's a fantastic gig bag, I just can't fault it. The bag looks very classy, it's robust, it will last for years and you won't find a better gig bag for the price. I spent a lot of time looking on-line before I bought one and nothing out there could beat it.

Highly recommended.
