Basic 4U rack case.
Anonymous 25.09.2018
It's a basic 4U rack case, it has deattachable lids on both sides with standard but kinda small and low quality butterfly latches. One lid has a little bag made out of a net like material where you can throw few things, both lids are moderately deep so you can have an adapter or cables sticking out of panel of your device and still close them, you can screw devices from both sides so you can actually fit more than 4 devices in theory (if they are short enough and if you can somehow manage cable in there and still have some airflow to cool them, but preferably you want 4 devices in front and use other side to mount smaller ones like a wireless receiver and/or power strip) Other than butterfly latches it's build is decent, it could use more comfortable handles (they could be covered in some rubber like material and a little bit wider and longer). Overall - a really affordable and a well made case, if Thomann wants to make a new version I would suggest to add wheels, an retractable handle and improve latches, then it would be perfect :)

Sturdy for plastic
Simon Cox 15.04.2019
This 4U rack is very strong for its construction. It has a metal mounting strip on both sides (front and back) so you can mount equipment both sides. This is especially useful for power amps; the heavier ones need supporting at the back so they don't bend the front rack strip.

The handles are a little to close to the body, meaning that it does scratch your hands when lifting it up. I have solved this with a small amount of duct tape and cloth strapped to the handle cut outs, but it would have been nice to see a bigger cut out in the first place.

The butterfly clasps on the front and back panels are interchangeable which is great, although they are a little flimsy. One of the panels even has a small cable pocket on the inside for little extras. This is great because it utilities the otherwise lost space.

If you need a budget transport case, I would strongly recommend this for cheaper hardware, but this will not protect against any knocks, bashed or drops.

Good for the money
Korneel 30.12.2019
I have had two of these carried to every gig for the past several years (since 2014 and 2016), and only now (end 2019) one of the screws failed and broke off, after more than 150 uses, not always in the best situations. So very good, just a pity that the screw broke off together with some plastic, so I had to replace the rack case -- yet I needed a larger one anyway. Overall very satisfied with these.

K
Lightweight, but not so sturdy case
KubaK 12.09.2019
I bought that case to replace my heavy wooden case that housed my guitar preamp and power amp. It works good for that purpose, and is considerably lighter. It protects the gear well enough on some short distance travel, but I would be hesitant to fly with it, or even post it by courier. The plastic is pretty thin and it seems like it might crack under too much pressure. Otherwise the case looks good and is competently, and price is decent as well. Would recommend only if you are not planning on doing any major touring with it.

Fits Axe FX II XL+
Anonymous 27.03.2017
The case is much better quality than I originally thought. It's not a flight case but I wouldn't hesitate putting this with my 3000 euro Axe FX into the back of my car and driving anywhere. Its sturdy, it's got enough room in the front and back panels to give air when in use and store cables when not in use and there's room above to fit another Axe FX II worth of rack gear. It's even got two handles on it for carrying. Im very pleased with it and think it's excellent value for the price.

Better than expected

I bought Thomann cases for economy, but found the build quality and strength better than the more expensive Gator cases.

Decent rack case

Value for money it's great but a couple of the, mounting bracket holes didn't align up properly with several bits of my gear. It's great to house gear but not sure I'd trust it to really protect it or take a fall etc. Looks like it would crack easy enough.

Some good some bad

So this rack is super light weight and locks on the side seem to be good.
But it broke on the 2nd flight with not heavy stuff inside, I?d hope it would bend or dent but the plastic totally broke on the corner. I would still recommend this cause its super cheap and light weight

B
too cheap to be good
Bertelchen 18.07.2020
PROs:
19" mounting rails on froint and rear!
Some kind of mash bag in the lid to stow away manuals an tools
CONs:
Some bolts were misaligned and on one side the handle's mounting plate sits tilted on the aluminium profile.
@thoman: make this a bit more expensive and invest in better quality assurance.

Very light and spacy
Thibsie 16.09.2018
Will take my Markbass Tube 800, my Korg rack tuner and a spacer (just in case).
Also, I let electrical plugs, speaker cables etc. in it so it is way easier to transport the whole thing.
Very hand but of course, might feel huge if used with tiny Travellers 102P (2x10) cabs. I fits very nicely my AShdown 15" cab.
