I've owned Sela and Schlagwerk cajons and this cajon from Thomann punches above its weight. When it arrived the sound was dry and tight. By loosening the stings a few turns the sound opened up and was comparable with my Schlagwerk Urban cajon.Not quite as loud and clear but close. So for the price - highly recommended.

The good thing about this is, the sound will carry just enough for an acoustic gig but not too much so I can control a recording session. Excellent for the price.

Not a fan of the flamenco type cajon

The build quality seemed quite good - but I returned mine as I discovered that I'm really not a fan of the flamenco type snare (guitar strings).
